I think it's...appropriate for there to be a visual consummation of the relationship. In real life, sex is a powerful thing. It ties people together physically, mentally, even chemically (yes, people form emotional attachments easier after sex. It's science).

So, I look at it as another step in deepening your relationship with your LI. That's why I like the Liara scenes: not because of her ****** or anything (I can use Google for that), but because it is plain to see how in love Shep and Liara are, in both the ME1 and ME3 scenes.

I'm honestly a bit baffled why Bioware didn't put as much effort into all the romance scenes as they did with Liara. I was thrilled with how they handled Miranda's in ME2, because it showed that Bioware was making an effort to change the tone of each scene: Liara's is tender and sensual, Miranda's was aggressive and playful, Tali's was sweet and inspiring, etc.

But the scenes in ME3 were pretty bad for the most part. People with LI's from ME2 got screwed and other scenes were mostly flirting with a second of awkward character models rolling on beds.

I think theres a difference between tasteful yet mature and porn. If you want to picture sexuality (not saying you have to) you can do it right without turning it into porn. A lot of movies do it, its called camera angle, use it. They did it in ME1, and hey, guess what, it worked =D.

Ashley and Traynor both had very solid scenes IMO. Clever camera angles are no different than underwear, you aren't seeing anything regardless.

Its other cases like Miranda or Jack that were effing weak.

Yea friend of mine romanced Miranda and I romanced Jack, I would say atleast Miranda didn't have a fade to black dance scene... so lame. I don't need sex to make the video game, but if you have it in, and it's cheap or not thought out then don't put it in. Jack kept saying she would come back to the purgatory and we would talk after I first talked to her there. Kept going back hoping to see her, next thing I know I'm on the final mission and still havent seen her. You get alittle vid communication at the end that says you'll get sex after the war... well so far there is nothing after.
