I just see it as a missed opportunity. Sex doesn't just "happen." You don't just flip the "sex switch" on, engage your sex with another person's sex, "SEX TRANSACTION COMPLETE," and then it's over.

It's a real thing. It's two human beings coming together as an expression of romantic love, and with a hellish amount of emotion and insecurity inextricably bound up in the act. Sometimes it's good. Sometimes it's bad. Sometimes it ends in an argument.

All of which is potential fuel for interesting character scenes.

Maybe Tali isn't good at sex, and feels insecure about it.  Maybe Garrus has commitment issues.  Maybe Miranda has body issues -- why the hell WOULDN'T she?  Maybe Jack cries during.  Maybe Ashley has sex angrily, and it reveals some deeper aggression she has towards you.  Maybe Kaidan can't get it up, because he's afraid you're going to die.  Maybe when you ask Liara to have sex, she says she has a headache.  Maybe your love interest says someone else's name in the midst of the act.  Or hell, maybe your kinky alien sex just DOESN'T WORK, and neither of you are satisfied, and you have to deal with that in the context of a romantic relationship.

All of these raise interesting interpersonal questions which prompt any number of player reactions.

But no.  Fade to black.  "Tee hee, they did it."

Well the way I see it if you're going to do a sex scene, make a real ****ing sex scene.  I don't need the Witcher 2 romp after finding the Rose of Rememberance, but Ashley should at least take her bra off.  Seriously, when I saw her wake up with it on I felt like I was in the "young adult" secion of the book store about to get a PSA on safe sex.  Kinda broke the moment.


"Oh God I've loved you for years, mourned your death, and now that I finally have you back I want to physically express myself but leave my bra on!"  For anyone who's ever been in love, that makes no sense.

I believe that Bioware graphical artists have some kinky textures saved deep in their harddrives for those long nights of hard work.

I bet the miranda lawson model has the full treatment. Especially considering they have full poly count models.

That was a gratuitous scene I figure. Oooh lets pop two women in the shower! They could have at least tried to use shots that don't show the underwear I guess? I don't know, wasn't exactly a scene that figured that highly on my list of moments.

Love, I think you'll find, isn't simply about getting the clothes off and getting down to business. That is a part of the process, but certainly not the whole deal.

The trouble with the scenes as they are is.. as far as I can tell, the American market? Get it going ME 1 style will probably cause more trouble than Bioware can be bothered to deal with, they probably saw the ending furore coming already. Don't want the media against them too? I don't know.

It's not important, I was just posting suggestions if for some reason OP wants to see it in an RPG the witcher games have it, but I also said it's not needed, it doesn't add anything spectacularly special to the game, it actually makes more sense in the witcher world because its very violent and edgy and dark anyway, one of the most mature gaming worlds I've ever seen. Graphic sex would not make sense in Mass Effect or Dragon Age, both mature themed world's but with their own tones, the romance scenes match the tones.

You just don't get it do you? It has nothing to do about wanting it in this game or wanting it to be graphic sex. All I am saying is that if you did it in the first ME, then do it for ME3. I expected a fade to black in ME1, but Bioware decided to raise the bar and they shouldn't have to lower it to appease the censors or shut the Fox News up. It doesn't have to be any more graphic than ME1, just a brief glimpse to show that you are taking this seriously, bra and panties in the shower just looks stupid.

By that logic, why have a sex scene at all?  If it's not giving me new information, engaging gameplay, or deepening my understanding of the characters, why does it even exist?  It serves no purpose.  It's just a bland, pointless, tittering "And then they did it."

1) Because they can
2) Because this is a visual story

They could very well have a walking to the bed and then fade to black, but I suspect there would be calls for scenes of them getting it on, so... there.

Not really. I'm 28 and I still complain when I can't see ******.

Being a Mature (17+) rated game, having nudity wouldn't be completely inappropriate, at least in the US. Perhaps it is more cost effctive to make a single edition of the game that can be sold in most parts of the world without editing the content.

ME1 set the tone for the series with regards to romance. Going explicit would be too far a departure. Going PG-13 is also outside of the original tone.

Actually during the scenes where Traynor is actually showering she's not wearing her bra and panties anymore as you notice they do more close ups, one of the close ups shows some lower boobage without exposing the nipples and another shows the lower rounded area of her butt cheeks with not obvious panty lining and if you decide to romance her and shepard goes in there the straps of her bra are gone when Shepard walks up behind her.

I just don't understand why people get so annoyed at the sex scenes in Bioware's games. I mean yeah, DA:O's were just plain bad and awkward (same for DA2's), but ME's are pretty decent. I mean sure, we don't get to see turian bollocks, but who cares?
