I wonder if her boobs feel natural or are they stuck in one place like metal blobs?

My Shepard will make it a point to find out.,

People wanting to have nudity to make the romance scenes more realistic are more mature than the imbeciles that dribble statements like "just go find porn" and other such offal.

Nudity adds realism. I damn well gaurantee you that military folks do not wear underwear in the shower, sex or not; that was one of the most absurd and willing-suspension-of-disbelief-breaking moments in the game, until the end of course.

Do you think that Game of Thrones was porn? True Blood? Any number of high quality, extremely entertaining shows have nudity because it's what people actually do.

Yet, we're still stuck in puritan mode, even for rated M games.

Well the way I see it if you're going to do a sex scene, make a real ****ing sex scene.  I don't need the Witcher 2 romp after finding the Rose of Rememberance, but Ashley should at least take her bra off.  Seriously, when I saw her wake up with it on I felt like I was in the "young adult" secion of the book store about to get a PSA on safe sex.  Kinda broke the moment.

"Oh God I've loved you for years, mourned your death, and now that I finally have you back I want to physically express myself but leave my bra on!"  For anyone who's ever been in love, that makes no sense.

Love, I think you'll find, isn't simply about getting the clothes off and getting down to business. That is a part of the process, but certainly not the whole deal.

The trouble with the scenes as they are is.. as far as I can tell, the American market? Get it going ME 1 style will probably cause more trouble than Bioware can be bothered to deal with, they probably saw the ending furore coming already. Don't want the media against them too? I don't know.

Yeah, I'm just saying if you're going to show 2 people, ostensibly in love, having sex, then they should behave like two people in love having sex.  Or at least a closer approximation than what Bioware gave us.

Can you imagine Fox News commenting on Same-sex anything in a game favorably?

Because I don't live in America I can only speculate ( a word now as dirty as entitled ), but my only working knowledge of it comes from some Bill O'Reilly segments and their coverage of ME 1, other than that, no idea.

Personally they seemed fine to me. I didn't think they really needed full nudity, it got the point across without getting another ridiculous attack from the media.

And heck they don't even show anything in Mass Effect one except some side body shots and side boobage but no graphic stuff, and I guess in Liara's scene we see her butt, big woop.

Exactly my point. Just do what you did in ME1 and do it in this game. It doesn't have to be any more graphic than ME1

This, but . . . OP has a point. Everyone BUT Liara is a wearing a swim suit. It's a bit silly, but I'm okay with it.

I think it's as close as it gets without the polygons themselves stripping and getting it on. I can see where you're coming from, but does it affect your satisfaction (no pun intended) to such a degree that the game is unplayable because the characters are getting it on in their undies? If it does then I imagine there may be some way of fixing it via mods, unsanctioned, of course.

The Liara scene was on par with ME1, I did not expect that. Too bad the other scenes are PG13.

They aren't PG13. Bare breasts are fine for PG13, and there aren't any.

Of course not, it's a nitpick.  Hell I laughed at it.  My beef is with the endings, the rest of the game I'd give a 9/10, with the PG-13 sex scenes taking maybe 0.3/10 off.

If I had not seen the Ashley romance scene from ME1 then I don't think that I would have a problem with the ME3 romance scence. Up till the ME1 scene, I had not expected any nudity. I did not expect anything beyond a fade to black. But then the scene started and she crawled to shepard with a brief view of her butt and that was it. I thought that was sufficient enough to say that "Yeah, we are making a game. It is art. It is like a movie, and is no longer going to be treated in the realm of all video games should be treated as kid's games when it comes to sex. If gory graphic violence is okay, then a tiny glimpse of a woman's behind should go unapposed."

So I expected Bioware to hold up this train of thought for ME3 (I did not romance anyone in ME2) and instead I see that they bowed to pressure from the media and I am treated with the Katherine Heigl experience. What do I mean by that? Well, in every movie that she does where there is a sex scene (Knocked up for instance) she always has her bra on. Who the hell has sex with their bra on? Nobody. The scene becomes unbelieveable and I am reminded that she is just an actress ashamed of her body, not the character she is portraying in the movie. If you don't want to show anything, but you know the movie calls for it, DONT TAKE THE PART. We will get somebody else in there with a pair of ovaries.

So the same thing happened to the ME3 romance with Ashley, bra and panties, and I was reminded that this is now once again a kids game and we can't show nudity. I am not asking for full on penetration, but just a brief glimpse to show that Bioware is being mature about this and are not ashamed. Whenever I snipe somebody in the head, you don't replace that with the helmet just flying off and the guy getting knocked unconscious do you? All I ask is that you show the same amount of realism for love as you do for war.

Oh no, I may have started the "HOLD THE LINE, GET LOVE SCENES CHANGED with DLC" movement. Bioware is going to have their hands full.

Meh.  If it's artistically viable and fits in the scene then who cares if it's that or not.  For instance, in ME2 Miranda's scene was appropriate.  There was no nudity, but it was a scene that conveyed her attitudes.  In ME3 I did find a jarring example of what you're saying though, when Traynor has a shower.  She is standing in the shower in her bra and panties.  I mean, really guys at ME3, couldn't you have made steam or something?  Or just shown her from behind from the waist up, so nothing was shown?

It's not so much about nudity, though quite frankly I find the fascination in American culture with a bared chest when you can see graphic violence at any time of the day hypocritical in the extreme.  It's more about maintaining some type of immersion.  If there's one thing this whole debacle over the ending has shown, it's that something done improperly is often received worse than something not done at all.

I have sympathy for the guys at Bioware on this issue a little however, since who knows what kind of hullabulloo would start if they showed actual nudity.  Christ, look at what happens when they DON'T show anything!  People like Fox news and various religious groups start their relentless nonsense about how it's evil alien sex and will corrupt the young and make them all want to marry ducks or something.

Still, while I have a bit of sympathy for wanting to avoid controversy in that realm, it's going to take true trailblazers if the attitude about nudity is ever to change in America (and Canada for that matter).  A shame that Bioware isn't ready to be one of those trailblazers on that issue, especially since they've been so reactive to the gay and lesbian players that wanted choices to better reflect their real life character (though perhaps they felt that area of controversy was enough.  God knows that they've taken flak over it from self-righteous religion mongerers who apparently have nothing better to do with their time than tell everybody else how they should live and what they should think and feel).

All they needed to do was use the same animation but change the model for Liara's scene.

It was perfect, nothing too explicit and it conveyed love so passionately. Miranda fades to black and Ashley rolls around in her underwear 0_o

On a semi-related note. Having Tali/Garrus out of clothing would help the fan artists a lot. Theyhave no clue what they look like below the neckline in terms of color and patterns (such as freckles).

Well honestly when I saw a video of the shower scene I was left chuckling and scratching my head. It wouldn't have affected my enjoyment in any way at that point, I was loving the game.

I fully agree on the endings, and all the noise coming around so far is disappointing to say the least. Bioware holding the cards close to their chest is one thing, but people being counter-productive by clamouring for refunds at this early stage must really affect all considerations for any DLC endings that may or may not be on the table.
