This has been discussed before. I believe it was generally determined that this is a message intended to represent your LI or whatever trying to get in touch with you while you are still being detained at the beginning of the game.

I certainly hope that it means something is coming, but it is much more likely a simple glitch with the cross-platform gimmick.

I'm seriously losing hope here...

Can't be at the start because she admits to not wanting to in the hospital scene. She even admits to it being ddifficult ti see you when you are going to the meeting just before the reaper attack

Miranda makes a mention about being patched up in mine..........and it's dated the say I "beat" the game. I resolved the issue with her father the day before.

From what other people have said, it really is supposed to be sent at the beginning of a new game. A lot of people begin a new game + right after they beat the game, which makes it confusing.

Everyone gets its early in the game. It's just a screw up because after the ending it gets reflagged for some reason when you're set back to before the Cerebus base mission. It doesn't matter the ending you take. If you have Kaiden you get the same thing from him. It's just a bug.

Isn't this in regards of them seing you under house arrest? Also if you start a new game after you beat it, new emails will show up based on your new game. It will still show the emails from previous playthroughs.

Problem is there really isn't a post game.  Once the game is over you go back too before heading to the Cerberus missions.

 I don't know if I'm the first to notice this, but I found nothing on the forum so far. The following incident really leaves me puzzled:

I took my time to suck it all in and yesterday night I finally beat the game for the first time. EMS was 4,000 and something, LI was Ashley and I chose the destroy ending including the 'breathing' scene.
As I am an iPad owner I had the Datapad App from the start. The mails you get throughout the game from your crew were a nice addition to the experience. Last one I got before priority mission earth was from EDI after discussing her origins at the Cerberus base. nothing after that. BUT today, almost 18 hours later I got a message from Ashley!? Being from Austria I got it in German but it says

"Hey Skipper! Today they may let me through to you. Hold on!"

Is this the first glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel? What do you say? This seems rather intentional to me, implying that Shepard survived, is under medical care and Ashley is obviously able to visit him. 

yeah, it's the buy dlc part of the app. remember that after you destroy it, the save goes to BEFORE you got to the illusive man's base (point of no return). the ending is still the ending.

This is strange.

I picked Destroy, had 7000 EMS and got that special cutscene and all that. But I never got that message, even though Ashley's my LI!

It doesn't make sense for this to be ment for when Shepard is being "housed" by the Alliance, because Ashley spesificly states while she herself is in the hospital that she couldn't bare facing you.

i'm in the middle of my second playthrough, Ash didn't send me an message at the beginning....

so i guess, it's after the game...i hope

Doesn't look good tbh. If Indoc Theory is correct, the battle is still raging. Perhaps the endings could be real and intended after all, and only certain people (high EMS, destroy) get these last messages that mean nothing.

Oh please Bioware, for the love of God, don't just release a few statements trying to "explain" the ending...

But the problem with this is at the beginning of the game it's mentioned that Kaidan/Ashley were busy and didn't really have time to come by. Not to mention the fact that they still were wary of your involvement with Cerberus.  So why would they send you a message like this?

IT does kind of make sense in light of the fact that which ever one of them is alive happens to be in the same building as Shepard.

Does anybody have any similar messages from LIs that AREN'T Kaiden or Ash? Cause if not that I would just assume it's about them trying to come see you at the start, which is why you run into them.
