This has been discussed before. I believe it was generally determined that this is a message intended to represent your LI or whatever trying to get in touch with you while you are still being detained at the beginning of the game.

I certainly hope that it means something is coming, but it is much more likely a simple glitch with the cross-platform gimmick.

I'm seriously losing hope here...

But the problem with this is at the beginning of the game it's mentioned that Kaidan/Ashley were busy and didn't really have time to come by. Not to mention the fact that they still were wary of your involvement with Cerberus.  So why would they send you a message like this?

Exactly.. doesn't make sense...

This came up before and appears to be a misplaced dialog from when Ashley is in the hospital.

Interesting... I hope it isn't just a bug thinking it's pre-game.

well since i despise apple, i am sad that i missed out on that in game feature...

sounds interesting

wouldnt it be funny, after all this uproar, the entire time, they actually had been developing more endings but couldnt include them originally because of either disk space or EA deadlines that were already missed by many months be delaying the release.

Heya,

I think its a bug. I did my original playthrough with Ash as the Virmire survivor. Then, I started a 2nd playthrough where Kaidan had survived. I got the message from Kaidan just as I started the 2nd playthrough. Don't think there's anything more to it than that.

From what other people have said, it really is supposed to be sent at the beginning of a new game. A lot of people begin a new game + right after they beat the game, which makes it confusing.

I started a new game 4 days after i beat it, i didn't receive either. nor did i receive such a message during detention.

...I don't have the app, but that sounds like something she would have sent at the start of the game while Shepard was in lock-down. Does anyone else have app with a different love interest messaging them?

Maybe, but her calling him "Skipper" at that point doesn't really make sense to me.

This would make absolutely no sense, considering Ashley is dead and I never romanced Kaidan in my playthrough (he hates me in ME2).

Shepard fell and hit his/her head on Eden Prime and ever since he/she was pretending to be Ashley/Kaidan.

Makes no sense?

I've seen at least one other reference to that post-game message as well. Don't know how to make sense of it given that what we see is Ash left on another planet with no working mass relays and Bioware stating publicly that the endings are real and that there will be no further single-player DLC.

A second question - you say you got to 4,000 EMS. Did you increase your Readiness rating using that iOS app? Was the game you played one that you started in ME1, then ME2, then the DLC and then imported into ME3?

The reason I ask is that I started with ME2 and played none of the DLC. My ME2 game looks to have been optimal in terms of its impact on TMS. My ME3 game was close to optimal. Looking at various articles, I think I can see how to carve out about 200 more TMS, but I need about 1300 TMS to reach the required 8,000 TMS to get to the Shepard Lives outcome (10,000 TMS apparently to *see* that Shepard Lives). I can see that some of the "default" results from ME1 and some of the DLC are the "bad" results in terms of TMS in ME3. I am trying to determine whether one can actually reach 8,000 or 10,000 TMS without having played *all* prior content correctly.

Wow,  when it is all pieced together like that it does make perfect sense. Oh Bioware you sneaky sneaky devils.

I may have to apologize if this is going where I think it ends up leading to.

I started at ME1, ME2 plus all relevant DLCs and ME3 plus DLC. I did try out multiplayer, the Infiltrator game and the Datapad, so my readiness rating was at roughly 60%. I have to check tomorrow, but my TMS wasn't far off the 8,000 mark, so I guess 4,000 EMS is possible in a single playthrough with 50% readiness. I sure as hell missed a handful of side missions or war assets on some planets.
But the only difference between 4 and 5,000 EMS seems to be that you don't have to save Anderson to get the breathing scene.

I have the app before I finished the game. It didn't change. My LI was Kaidan, and the last thing he said was "Doubt any of us will get much sleep after this, but I believe in you". That was dated 3/14.

Last night I started another playthrough so now it's updated with he wanting to come see me but 'they might not let them', so I never got this separate message you said

if the indoc theory is true, maybe they actually saw Shep as being indoctrinated and sent him to a mental hospital or something... That way, there's a way to salvage what's happening no matter which choice you made on the citadel and continue the story.
Only problem is there's no time to do this when Reapers are there..

Yeah I got this too but I had started a new game with the character just after. Think it was referring to her visiting you in your cell thing.
