That being said, the ending is clearly a case of "agree to disagree" so rather than to try to convince anyone else of my opinion, I am posting this to simply to show my support for the ending (and the whole series as well, frankly). It should be noted that we aren't all upset. It should also be noted that ANY game with this passionate a following must have done something right.
AS to the game itself, I thought the story was fantastic, and I actually appreciate the fact that they didn't give up every little detail about the ending. I have enough imagination to fill in the gaps sufficiently, and don't need Tom Clancy-like technical explanations for every cinematic. What I DID appreciate is the opportunity to wrap up the RELATIONSHIPS I've spent 3 games and god knows how many hours cultivating. The last hour or so of Gameplay was AMAZING. I love the plot twist, AND the choices presented - i spent three games knowing EXACTLY what i would to to the reapers if given the chance, and then finally in the last moments I REALLY had to decide... REALLY had to think what MY Shepard would do based on the choices I had made earlier... and the information I now possessed. And chose something unexpected because it made sense to me...
And finally a little glimpse of the world after (and for ME and my choices, a little Joker/EDI, Adam and Eve moment). And though the cutscenes for the different endings weren't dramatically different, the WORLDS left in the wake of those 3 choices would have been VERY different. If I have a hope for the DLC, it would be some post-ending exploration of different planets in those 3 different Mass Relay-less universes.
And finally, though I haven't seen anyone else comment on this, surely I am not the only one who noticed that the stargazer cutscene after the credits was voiced by BUZZ ALDRIN! Freaking BUZZ ALDRIN! All in all the best gaming experience I have ever had, beginning to end!
