Why Is Everyone So Forgiving Of The Eavesdropping Side Quests In ME3?

Are these lost in the hysteria of the awful endings?

My main problem with missions in ME3 was that the journal sucked, and it wasn't always clear what missions you had to complete right away. Whenever a mission is time sensitive it should state that in the mission description. Also, it shouldn't have been possible to unlock missions before you had unlocked the systems those missions took place on. Sometimes it was a bit confusion in that you'd get missions for star systems that you couldn't find on the galaxy map, because you hadn't yet done another mission that opens up that system.

Sadly like everyone noticed they just decided to make a fantastic shooter part and went really lazy on the whole rpg part of the game, from having less choices in dialogues to the anti-intuitive journal, the simplicistic weapon mods (five mods for every weapon? that's it?) and this.

I don't mind those, so long as there isn't a time limit.

I agree, especially with the missions before systems part. As for the time limit bit, i fortunately didn't fail any due to this constraint. I decided that priorities could wait seeming as they were main quests, soo they could be time restricted. Then, i just did every mission that i could do in between priorities, and prioritised them according to description. For example, i did jacks and jacobs missions fairly quickly after unlocking them, as they sounded like they needed help now, not when shep got round to it

Although if the journal was fixed it would have made it a lot better.

My opinion on them: I didn't really like the method used to get these quests, but since they were minor quests that were largely just "scan for item X and then return to quest giver", I didn't see it as game breaking or ruining my experience.

The journal is the weak link though - ok I'm not a fan of hand holding in games, but the journal here just makes things unnecessarily difficult, for no reason.

Beggers belief why any of it was changed from ME1/2.

Major step backwards in my honest opinion, as was the keeping tabs on quest progress and location pinpointing of the journal system.

Rushed development?

So many people say 'only the ending sucked'. What about how side missions were handled, reduced interactive dialogue with squad mates and tons of auto-dialogue.

Completely agree with you, there's umpteen other things either off or wrong with ME3, but unfortunately the ending really does overshadow everything, be they problem or success, with the game.
