Welcome to RPGs where eavesdropping quests happen everywhere?

I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to the side quests. Sure, they can't even hold a candle to the Loyalty missions in ME2 (Which is saying something) but overall I can't say I disliked ME3 until the ending.

The game did feel really rushed, but the overall Main quest was interesting enough to waylay the side missions. Overall, discounting the ending, I'm happy with the game.

I thought it was actually nice, I get annoyed at traditional rpg side quests given to you by HAVING to listen to random strangers prattle on, at least this way you could choose to stay and listen or not.

As for squaddies, yeah that was really annoying, it felt like they were all turned into dlc characters like Kasumi and Zaeed

Side quests are boring and tedious, that is one of my concern in the game. The ending is the biggest problem though.

Not to mention that the Citadel is the only hub. I think Omega and Illium (?) still exist.... Maybe even the Quarian Migrant Fleet can be a hub....

Yeah, honestly that did tick me off more than just a little bit. I understand that a lot of places are no longer safe, but there's gotta be more than just the Citadel out there.

I do hope this will not become standard.
It's ok to have a few of those, but every damn side quest in ME3, aside from N7, is eavesdroping quest.
It becomes tedious very fast.

I wouldn't even call them side quests. More like fetch a line of text quests.

So many people say 'only the ending sucked'. What about how side missions were handled, reduced interactive dialogue with squad mates and tons of auto-dialogue.

Are these lost in the hysteria of the awful endings?

It's funny.  Ur mad because some people aren't mad about that , right?

Personally, that thing annoyed me. But i didn't found it gamebreaker, is kinda like the DA2 quests.

The tiny fetch quests annoyed me far less than those in DA2 for whatever reasons, but the quests were hardly amazing. My biggest beef though is with the journal. I don't need a nav-point to every little item, but at least make the information useful and last but not least update it as you progress.

that's what Shepard does, helping everyone in the galaxy to fix their problems. Maybe in the next DLC we will be seeing Shepard helping out a demented hanar to cross the street on the Citidal.

Side quests in general were awful, yes. There is a lot about this game that shows how rushed the whole project was.

It's notable that the one thing EA does not seem to want to do is to compare the development time between Oblivion and Skyrim and the resulting quality of the new release. They're trying to fit their sports game franchise build schedule to everywhere else and it is really showing.

Many, if not most, RPGs have random bull**** side quests and fetch quests so that didn't bother me. I don't even mind that we could get quests before we could access the system you were supposed to get the thing from--to me it was a bit more realistic in that sometimes in life you can get info that you cannot act upon yet. I just hate the lack of journal updates because dammit, I could never remember if I got X artifact from Y system to give to Z person already.

I dunno about autodialog...unless you guys put it on action mode there are still choices, and I felt like it was better NOT to have to pick a choice for every single thing that Shepard says. And I also don't mind that companions were "Zaeeded" because at least when you talk to them they more often than not say things that are actually relevant to the mission instead of just repeating a couple of lines you've already heard from your previous conversation. Plus they move around the ship and, more importantly, interact with each other, making it feel more organic.

why are we so forgiving of the eavesdropping side quests? well for me it was because they were such minor missions and the rest of the story and gameplay was so great.....until the end. There it is, the end. The end was so bad that we couldn't really concentrate on much else. Do you worry about a little scratch when one of your arms just got ripped off?

Yeah.. those missions were silly. Most of the time any conversation was cut off, and no idea you've picked up "quests"

I opened my journal and saw like 10+ quests and was where the f***k did these come from?

And being chased by angry lobsters while scanning planets to finish these "quests" was plan retarded.

There's a difference between an annoyance/laziness and outright earth shattering terrible travesties of justice.

I didn't like them either. I'm ok with one or two quests being picked up that way, but I like having more player input so the traditional side quests are infinitly better.

It was really annoying for me too, but endings just blew that out of my mind a little. Also, there aren't very many sidequests on top of that. Tempted to say 2 was the best game.

Because it's done, unlike the ending sadly it's to big a thing to "fix" in DLC form, it's a huge chunk of the game. We can say it sucks but there's no constructive use to it other then let them know pleas to never do it again.
Sadly like everyone noticed they just decided to make a fantastic shooter part and went really lazy on the whole rpg part of the game, from having less choices in dialogues to the anti-intuitive journal, the simplicistic weapon mods (five mods for every weapon? that's it?) and this.

I wouldn't agree that it was done, without any chance of tweaks. I personally don't look forward to in future playthroughs, visiting every area of the Citadel every few priority missions, on the off chance of hearing someone talk about a random item on a world with no directions to it in the cluttered journal.

The journal could be tweaked, spitting priority missions from fetch quests and adding some text about the star system where planets are located.
And speaking of the fetch quests, instead of stumbling through the Citadel, requests for them could be added as messages in the Spectre area across from Udinas office.

There was (and Im being serious) already a quest like that in ME1 where a woman stole a Csec officers weapon and was holding herself hostage by the Normandy. Only happens if you chose the Skillian Blitz history for Shepard. She is bat-ish crazy and thinks you are going to hurt her like a Batarian.  A french human csec officer asks shepard to help out.

So sadly, your idea is 5 years and two games old.

it was clearly another step in the steamlining of bioware games. now you don't even have to press a button to initiate a quest just walk around randomly grabing quests without effort. clearly designed for casual gamers

Sorry I didn't really have a problem with them. It was no different than over hearing the news in ME1 and sure as heck is more satisfying then the creeper status of walking up to a random person and saying something like "Aww :( you look sad. Tell me a stranger all your problems  and I'll see if I can help :wizard:" If you ask me that was waaay higher on the creep scale than just overhearing someones issue and deciding to help. The only thing I didn't like though was the fact that you had to hear the whole conversation and couldn't skip through them and if you walked all the way on the other side of the room you still talked to them. Then there was the issue with the journal...holy unhelpful and non updating data batman. :?

They could've been more engaging sure, but it really wasn't that bad. I just think they needed to add abit more variety to them and of course made the journal be actually useful and competent. Adding alittle dialogue with them, wouldn't have really made them any better lol
