Would this game be better played on the pc or the console? I get that there is more customization on the pc but since I usually play on the console what are the major differences?

And to answer some expected questions its an xbox 360 and yes my pc's specs are pretty decent for gaming. Juat would like a few opinions :) also I tried looking for search but I cant find it or I did and I keep getting an error.

The entire UI and interface are different. You can play closer to Baldur's Gate on the PC, as opposed to KOTOR-like on consoles.

I didn't wanto create new topic, so i ask this here. Many places has stated that easy and normal difficulties are easier in box version than pc. How about hard? Does box version use same settings on hard than pc in hard?

If you can run it, get the PC version. This a PC game and it shows. Better graphics, better gameplay, better everything.

The combat is really different on both versions. On the console you are only up close and micromanaging is said to be cumbersome. So you'll mostly play the main character and leave the rest of the party on AI. That's why it's said to be like KOTOR, i.e. limiting. You can't issue everyone movement commands while paused for example. You can only move one character at a time like that.

The PC version allows to play like that too, but you also have the option to take full control of the party and manage every detail. It's up to you. Personal control or rely on the AI. The console versions clearly lean in the latter direction.

As a result of the control and interface issues, the difficulty has been rebalanced as well. Friendly fire is just one aspect of that. Many reviews have noted that the consoles are way easier.

PC loses nothing over the console when you have a good one, and gains community mods, and better control over your party. Mods are basically the biggest reason to play games on PC rather than console.. and well, this one has them.

Trust me on this. It is really fun and looks good on the consoles, at least on the 360 which I am playing the game on. But seriously, if your PC can handle it. Buy it for PC. When I can afford a new PC, in the end of the year/beginning of next one, I'll definitely buy it for PC aswell. In the mean time, I'm happy to play it on my 360.

The Game Spot review recommends the PC version over the consoles: http://www.gamespot....nage/index.html

my main worry about console is whether the 6 slots are enough, especially later in the game. I dont want to pause and swap in talents all the time.

is 6 enough or is that the practical amount for target spells etc?

my other option is running it on pc with a 7800gt 256, duo 2.33, xp (hopefully medium settings).

If you want to play with a controller or/and/if you enjoy a comfier console setup get a console version. Micromanagement is mostly fine however the positioning side in fights can only be done one person at a time.

If the distant viewpoint, toolset, mouse, keyboard and the complete rather than selected community mods matter more, then get the pc version.

No version is said to have above anything but average (but nice) graphics. Xbox graphics are said to be a little washed out, PS3 is said to have a few minor frame rate dips and the PC isn't completely glitch free either.
