At the Denerim Orphanage and it's so freaky...

"The Power of the Maker Compels you!"
I wonder if I don't bring Ser Otto, if he survives. Or if I get stuck in the zone transition.

yeah poor Otto, I liked him. I knew he was gonna die. Everytime he didn't I sighed in relief thinking they hadn't pulled that rabbit. But alas they did eventually.
I was hoping for there to be a living human who actually stuck around and cared about the elves...and y'know was alive.

The last play through i played a DPS mage and as always as a mage i have the heal spell. It was kind of cool to keep him alive until the end and it was tricky to heal him through out. I do the same thing when there are random encounters later in the game and there are troops either, dwarves, soldiers of redcliffe or elves and i will watch the friendlies and throw heals as necessary. With out any sort of hot key target selection healing folks not in your party can be tricky but it is good practice to boost your target selection skills.

It reminded me a bit of the famous "The Cradle" level from Thief 3, which was even creepier.

Yes, the orphanage was a little freaky, and I was sad that Otto died too, he was quite cool.

I think it's the saddest place of the game, all kids were killed... to bad it was only for a side quest.
I missed some dialog here and was really to short in my taste.
That side quest also could be more imporant because that Templars showed a goodside who wasn't chasing mages but wanting to defeat a demon.

I find it weird that nobody else around noticed or commented upon the orphanage across the street had blood and dead dogs outside its door. I was hoping that some of the non-talkable elves around would comment after you completed the quest.

Definitely one of the better and well designed parts of the game, it does creep you out and to be honest, that's the whole point. It could certainly be longer and more detailed.
