When bioware stops being lazy

Bingo. That will never happen, every game industry became lazy, as there isn't as much competition anymore. Most games are released by the same 2-3 major players, like EA, 2K Games and Valve.

Those who aren't, will be sooner or later taken over by one of those.

Besides all that, consumers/customers are more stupid than ever and just buy about any s****.

Though, I have to say, Valve and also 2K do a much better job at taking time to develop quality. 2K does a really ****ty job for PC ports, but they have the best games. Although, Mafia II for example was way too short and just a shadow of teh previous game. But it was still great, unlike ME3.

The sample size is too large due to new multiple votes and vote-bombing, same with the lopsided results - in addition to the fact that the poll was worded and advertised in order to garner one specific result, meaning people who feel differently have absolutely zero motivation to participate in the vote. As for the corroborating evidence? It still draws fro the same tainted pool as this poll, and should be discounted for the same reasons.

Statistics 101.

Go ahead and speculate that multiple votes, vote-bombing, and poor wording destroyed the poll. Minor influences.

You just don't want to believe any of the evidence. The polls and reviews are hiding the truth.

Go ahead and believe that.

It's the same thing that was posted when DA2 went south.  That time they were blaming 4chan,  and everyone really loved DA2,  it's just 4chan making it look like they don't.  It was 4chan that posted all the negative reviews,  it was 4chan that was complaining on the boards.

And the overwhelming evidence showed that DA2 had in fact failed to impress.  To this day,  some of the people still pretend it was all 4chan.

Truth is,  Bioware's burned all their bridges.  They probably could've salvaged the situation by patching the game to address the lie that SP can achieve the optimal ending,  and promising a free DLC to fix the endings.  At this point,  it's likely too late.  They'll have to release a KotOR/BG2 level game to manage to sell anything in the future,  just on reputation alone now they won't be able to sell anything.

Because if you read the external sites,  the general message is now "I knew Bioware would be destroyed when EA bought them".

classic. Yeah, if you care to look, the writing is on the wall.

ME3 sales dropped 74% in the second week:

In comparison, DA2 sales dropped 66%. And we all know how DA2 did in the following weeks.

Ummm, 4chan's fault.

That's rather horrific, but the sales went south after the second day so not really unexpected.

I'd give it a month max. Let's be honest, it's a game, most will go play something else within a month and that will be that. Journalists will lose interest by next week.

All Bioware has to do is ignore it and it will go away. Doesn't mean they won't lose customers, but the furor will have died down.

Uh are you kidding? Rule Number One of advertising: Get your name out there as much as possible. BioWare and Mass Effect have been trending all week, sales are steady; this may not be 'good' press per se but it is press nonetheless. People will buy the game JUST to see what everyone else is complaining about.

To be clear, the information is only from the UK. The data has faults and the picture is incomplete, but it is still worth observing. I don't know how to look at the information except on a relative basis:

ME3 sales dropped 74% in week 2.
ME2 sales dropped 62% in week 2.
DA2 sales dropped 66% in week 2.
DAO sales dropped 47% in week 2.

ME3 sales dropped the most on a percentage basis.

But to win a false advertising case, you'd have to prove that their claim of "Multiple endings" is a lie. Which it isn't. There are multiple endings.

You'd have to prove "every choice you make will mean something" is a lie. Which it isn't. Your choices DO matter over the course of the game.

You'd have to prove all their statements are lies, not exaggerations, not things that simply didn't meet your expectations, flat-out deceptions. And they're not. I've already stated this, but of that long list of "lies" that people claim BioWare told, there is, in fact, only ONE lie.

That you don't need multiplayer to get the best ending. That is a lie, because there is no way to get 4000 EMS in single-player alone. So.. good luck suing them over that. Really, you'll need it.

I agree this case is a loser in court.  I don't think BioWare intentionally lied.

However, that doesn't stop customers from being upset at the long list of statements that turned out to be false. Sure, you can torture the statements to make them appear true with a narrow interpretation, but that doesn't matter.

What matters is how customers feel about them because customers are the ones that purchase BioWare products.
