If the game remains as it is I doubt the dissatisfaction will blow over...how long people will continue to ask for an ending dlc is the question and if they don't get one what will they do from there. As for moving on to another game...just finished Silent Hill Downpour....loved it.

Logan Cloud, if you've got no desire to add your voice to ours, fine.

But don't tell us we're wrong to want what we were promised, it makes you come off as a condescending tool.

I really can't be arsed to walk around and be sad about a videogame ending for much more than a few weeks. Yes, I was pissed off and frustrated after I completed the game. It wasn't what I had expected at all! That said, I've let the ending sink in and have now accepted it for what it is.

Bioware ****ed up. Bioware ****ed up really bad, and I'll never pre-order any of their games ever again. I will always remember Mass Effect as an amazing trilogy, but after this ending it just won't be the same. I will probably replay the game soon-ish, and see if I like the ending a bit better, now that I've gotten over how bizarre it is.

It is just a piece of entertainment after all.

I'm well aware it's just entertainment/art/whatever you wanna call a skillfully made diversion. But it's one *I* care about, and as long as there's a possibility of improving it for the better I'm not gonna let it go.

It seems that the only thing that could swing things one way or another is a clear yes or no from Bio-Ware. If they say yes, people will stop complaining and focus on anticipation. If they say no, people will still complain but eventually move on. What's keeping this thing on the fence is the indecision on the part of the developer.

I think this is very dissimilar to DA2; sure that one wasn't a "great ending" but at least it wasn't the last of the series. Things could be explained in DA3.

Actually a simple slide show of characters with some blurb about their future like in DA: Origins would be enough to get people to, as someone said, "lay off". Too many unknowns right now feeding the fire of speculation.

dunno, at some point I will get tired of waiting and forget about Mass Effect and BioWare, either way BioWare loses my money and support.

What was that other industry that ignored customers and continued to produce utter crap. Oh yeah the US car industry! Hopefully the government will bail out EA.

People still talk about how bad EP 1 of Starwars is.... that was 1999. The ending of this game is far worse than even George Lucas is capable of..

Do you realize how sad the truth of that is, given what Lucas has done?

I think that it is a literal race to PAX East, and a war of attrition. If this mess makes it to PAX where it can get a **** load of press coverage then Bioware will be forced to do something because of the implications to sales and their image.

How soon? Well considering that they will be churning out DLC for a year Id say thats the timeframe. Whenever new dlc gets announced people will flood back in and ask "where is the ending".

Sure both DA2 and Deception has taught Bioware that they can stonewall people to death but they loose fans every time they do it. They loose paying customers of the best kind, those that preorder and pay for any dlc. The loyal kind. Ofcourse they can make it up by catering to the "pew pew crowd" but its not Biowares speciality. Bioware is a storydriven studio... But the pew pew crowd doesnt give a crap about the story as long as there is a flimsy excuse to plug or pounce.

Anyway. Ill be around. I find it much too enjoyable to rub their faces in it to leave.

I feel sorry for the Bioware duded at PAX East. Let's hope people manages to stay civil, and keep the nerd rage inside of them.

I'd give it a month max. Let's be honest, it's a game, most will go play something else within a month and that will be that. Journalists will lose interest by next week.

All Bioware has to do is ignore it and it will go away. Doesn't mean they won't lose customers, but the furor will have died down.

The furor isn't what should concern Bioware though. The lost customers should.  Furor doesn't cost them money
(outside the impact it has on sales).  The furor will of course die down, but hopefully Bioware will realise they have to do something to repair their relationship with consumers (as in the end that is what will drive future sales).

It's ridiculous that these complainers can't figure out that it would be impossible to meet their crazy expectations. The ending is what it is deal with it

No kidding. I have never seen a company so willing to throw 15 years of goodwill away so fast. But here we are.

I guarantee this will all blow over as soon as Assassin's Creed III releases and everyone plays that ending and it sucks.

Seriously, there is no way that game will end well when the main bad guy is a solar flare. How do you stop a solar flare?

You cannot have a bad ending in a linear non-RPG ending. You just have an ending. It fits lore then its an acceptable ending. It doesn't its a stupid ending. You've had no impact on the game so the ending doesn't matter as long as it fits, you can't have a bad or a good ending in a non-choice making game, you just have an ending.

Yeah keep telling yourself that.

When Desmond either gets scorched to hell and dies or he Des Ex Machina the solar flare with the Pieces of Eden and saves the world.

Honestly, Ubisoft kind of drew themselves into a corner. Should have gone with like a left over god or something. Then at least using the pieces would make sense.

OOH! And make the sinking of Titanic an Assassin induced catastrophe. That would be cool.

"This entire ship is crawling with Templars. We'll never escape with the Sword of Micheal."

"We need a diversion....and I think a sinking ship is a big enough one."

*stabs the side of the ship*

Can you say epic  parkour while the ship sinks?

It won't. I'm not touching DA3 (or any other BW release) until its been torn apart, reviewed forward and backward, and beaten by a large majority of fans here. Then, if its good, I might wait til I can get it pre-owned someplace. I preordered ME3 CE, paid $85 for it, and I'll never make that mistake again.

I was hugely disappointed in DA2, and it wasn't handled well at all by BW, in my opinion. I didn't think Mass Effect would be affected by this, and LOVED the game, til the end. Then I logged on here and realized it wasn't just me, lol.

This.
I'm sure lots more people will start thinking like that from now on.

I still remember when BW handed out development of KOTOR:TSL to Obsidian and they came out with a horribly rushed ending.

I said: "Bioware would never have done that." Fast forward 8 years and it seems they've made me a liar (I haven't actually reached the ending so I'm not sure how I will feel about it, but this many people can't be wrong).

It took a long time for BW to build the trust it enjoys with its playerbase. But trust is easily lost, and ME3 along with the previous DA2 might just be enough to bring it down completely.

I hope they turn it around in time.

@Logan Cloud: to be honest, YES we deserve better than what we got. Maybe YOU are perfectly fine with seeing 60 euros/dollars go to waste because of those endings, but I for one am not! Bioware should keep to their promises instead of telling their customers blatant lies!
