I have a question about those 2 films: why in the first shepard says "i love you" to ash, and in the second just says "ash" (after choosong "i love you" option in conversation)? What is the difference?

I've noticed some Ashley vids on youtube that were different than my playthrough.
My hypothesis is that the scenes differ depending on whether you are starting a new relationship with her vs. carrying it over from ME1.

Could also be the difference between Paragon and Renegade. When he admires her strength on Eden Prime that could be the dialogue for a Renegade Shep
