I hate to use the term, but I am starting to wonder if it is actually true. She shows a lot of traits common to one anyway. She has no real flaws that I can really notice. Everyone but Javik seems to be in love with her (and Javik is wrong for not liking Liara) and even a hardcore renegade Shepard is forced to be her friend by Mass Effect 3.

Then there is the unrelastic and weird character development she undergoes, that just seems forced to keep her relevant to the plot. Unlike, say Wrex or Mordin who have more believeable development, and grow as characters in a natural and organic way. But not Liara. She starts as a Prothean expert, and is kind of shy. Cool. Then she is suddenly a cold, emotionless information broker out of nowhere, and then. She is the most powerful information broker in the galaxy. That is a huge leap, and it is very hard for me to believe that a character that was a shy and awkward archelogist just two years previous is now one of the most powerful people in the galaxy. I know about the comic, and even then. It is still a huge leap that the shy and awkward archelogist did all of that.

Ah, screw it. Nobody has read this far. At this point you are all hammering the reply button to yell at me. So let's just talk about who is going to be eaten first on plothole planet. I think it will be Joker. Look at him. He's the weakest, and also has brittle bones. Bones that will be less of a choking hazard when everyone (excluding Garrus or Tali who cannot eat Joker) have to cook him. EDI? What's EDI going to do? I bet she can't beat a rock upside the head. That's how you beat technology. Shepard. Rocks. And kicking. Vega kicked the **** out of that console and, you know what? IT WORKED. Maybe if you kicked the Catalyst or something we wouldn't have had those endings!

Yeah, Liara was a bit to perfect. Though I didn't mind her jump to information broker. I was ok with that. I mean, if Wrex can go from a selfish merc to ruling the Krogan, Liara can become the Shadow Broker.

Javik did like her. At least, I suspect he did. If you go down to Javik's hold while Tali is drunk (emergency induction port dialogue) Tali is talking to Javik when she starts teasing him about liking Liara, then starts teasing him about liking everybody.

Anyway, I kind of agree. I do like this ME3 Liara more than ME1 Liara. She definitely did change, but I don't think it's as big a change as you say. She does seem cold and calculating in a few of the missions, but I think that's just her acting tough because she's the mosuckrin Shadow Broker. She's changed, but I don't think she has too much.

Yes. Simple. Not even Liara fans deny it anymore. But I ain't that bothered by it. Her writing in ME3 was good so my Shep enjoyed her as good friend.

I got that feeling also. Her character development felt strange when coming to ME2, she can't be killed in the trilogy and the whole thing just screams canon romance to me.

Yeah a bit. Though I liked the change in her in ME2, because she was no longer so goddamn boring.

More of the transition is seen in the comics between ME1 and ME2.  Largely, losing Shepard and then Feron sucked.

This is the 3rd or 4th thread about this?

here is my suggestion: deal with it and drop it, or if necessary revive one of the older threads.

You know Liara will be the romance in the movie, too. Which I don't care about anyway because it'll be yet another Hollywood movie with a white male action hero (confirmed) so to hell with that.

As for the planet, yeah Joker probably gets eaten first. Garrus will go crazy with starvation and start picking people off with his sniper rifle, Javik will be sitting on a rock cursing Shepard's name for denying him the opportunity to see the Reapers die, Tali will kill herself to stop the pain, Vega will promote himself as the local breeding stud, and so on.

Yeah but Shepard could call her out on it if I recall.

probably more an editor's pet. one individual writer wouldn't be able to shoehorn a character in to the detriment of others if the other writers didn't want him to.

You can't spell Liara without LIAR.
Plot twist?
