You can't spell Liara without LIAR.
Plot twist?

Just out of curiosity; did you character keep that modified hair from ME2 in ME3?

No, they replaced it with something else.

It was very depressing, i like the hair T_T

I know right? Philestines.

Love me.

No. Regardless of that fine shade of blue you have, making monster threads like that can't be forgiven.

What if I were a shade of red?

Or maybe green?

I can also be purple for a mere $10!

But why did they abandon their pet on some uninhabited jungle planet? That's heartless :crying:

I hate DLC.

...

Exceptions can be made for Indoctrination Theory DLC though.

I am the Indroctrination theory embodied.

And I'm red.

She was a good squadmate in ME3, though that may be the writer's fault. She is like the female equivalent to Garrus in that they know Shepard is going through more than he'll show. She had some good development I just wish all the characters got the same amount of conversation and characterization as her and Garrus.

I was ok with her as a character, I was ok with her story and I was ok with her emotional change... What I was not ok with was how they seemed to try and force a relationship with her. Having never even considered her as an LI, I felt it weird there would be a scene where even after I already have an established relationship i can call her "more than a friend" That shouldn't even be an option if the right conditinos arent met and yet boom everytime there she is on the citadel talking about her child hood and sharing secrets with shepard... Way to much...

Not to mention she has the most in depth relationship and meaningful romance scene

I think that faced with starvation, separation from the fleet and her homeworld, and knowing that the man she loves has just died (yes, my Shepard died because I didn't play multiplayer), Tali will be the first one to die on the jungle planet, as she will throw herself from the nearest cliff to end the pain.

I actually read the whole OP, unlike the rest of you.

Garrus and Tali don't really compare. I dislike being forced to be Garrus' friend too (no I don't hate Garrus) but I don't have to recruit him in Mass Effect and can kill him in 2 if I don't want to see him again. Same with Tali.

But I think if Shepard kicked the console at the end of 3 it would have solved all of our problems. Kick that thing Shepard. If Vega can get a gun on Rannoch working then you can kill Harbinger by kicking the Catalyst.

Speaking of those forced friendships, the one I really didn't like was Anderson. I had to treat him almost like he was my father, and he invaded my flashbacks just like Liara did. Get out of my flashbacks, Anderson! I like my entire squad more than you!

I think the whole flashback thing was a bad idea. Maybe because I think Joker being one of the most important people in Shepard's life is... kind of weird.

I struggle between the two sometimes, but at the very least, Liara is a comforting friend.

I don't have any problems with her character development. She goes through a lot, she is still relatively young, still growing up, and there is a big time gap in between the first game and the second game. It may not be completely believable, and I'm sure there is some truth to her being a "writer's pet". It's clear that BioWare didn't expect fans to like her as much as they did in the first game. I'm okay with how it all turned out, though, and Liara is my favorite character.

It certainly was. Makes it nice and consistent with the rest of the ending, though.

I personally never really liked Liara, I though she was too weak in ME1 and lacked a spine. (the tone and cadence of her voice didn't please me either) but I geuss thats because I respect strength and confidence and she seemed to lack both in the first game. Only thing she had going for her was that she was supposed to be smart but that only seemed to really be demonstrated in ME2 especially in LotSB. If she is a writer's pet than his perfect i what I would deem to be flawed.
Yeah, I agree the change in her character was a leap, but forgivable as it made her far less annoying

I understand where you are coming from but remember it was 2 years between ME1 and ME2.

Then (in the plot's time the Shadow Broker DLC took place after the Collector base) and that was a few more months since they said it was a whole year since the collectors but 6 months since ME2.

Not entirely sure what is with the last paragraph but I hated the ending anyways since it was full of plotholes, like that one.

Just wanted to make sure people were reading the entire thing. Not just the title and the first paragraph and deciding to reply right away.

It's a fun experiment to do when you are writing a paper or messageboard post. Make it somewhat long and throw in something bizarre to see if people are actually paying attention

I think this is the point Bioware is trying to make. They made the ending bad on purpose to see if people were actually paying attention.
