 Sometimes, when you're in a conversation with someone, and pick a response, Shepard will say whatever the response is, but the subtitles never appear, or the subtitles for the person you're talking to remain on the screen, instead of Shepard's response.

This makes keeping up with the conversation kind of difficult, especially if you're having trouble hearing Shepard's voice.

Worst part of it is, I haven't been able to pin down any specific trigger for it, other than conversation. It's as if the game just can't keep up, so it drops the subtitles to reduce its load or something.

Any ideas?

Have had the same troubles but only with the english version of this. After I reinstalled the game with my mother language (german) it was okay again. Maybe your registry has some problems? Otherwise I have no idea why this happens.

I was the one who brought it up on Twitter, so I'm going to chime in that, obviously, I have the same problem.

When it happens, it's always after choosing a dialogue option for Shepard, and her continuing talking without her subtitles showing up.

Suppose it's possible, but have installed game on fresh Win 7/64 installation, so no other programs on system to mess up registry.

Note: Only happening on PC. Xbox copy of games not producing same problem.
