The first several times I read that, I was parsing it wrong:

@masseffect wrote...
We are getting plenty of feedback from people who love the ending and consider the thought of changing it an affront, as well.

At first, I though @masseffect was saying they considered changing the endings an affront. However, I think it should be parsed like this:

@masseffect wrote...
We are getting plenty of feedback from people who love the ending and who consider the thought of changing it an affront, as well.

In other words, @masseffect isn't saying they consider changing the endings an affront, but that they get feedback from people who feel that way. That being said, they do seem to be playing up those who like the ending as a larger group than they really are.

You know, that makes a whole lot of sense...

I think it does, too.  No way they'd be THAT stupid.

Guys, please calm down.  The wording may not be ideal, but I believe species.zero is correct.  They're simply acknowledging the other side's concerns.  As much as we may disagree with them, Bioware cannot simply discard one side over the other.  They still have to play it safe.

Bioware's Mass Effect 3 twitter is only addressing positive posts.

They were responding to people questioning the end a few days ago, but they stopped.

What they are going to say?

We never promised that ending will be affected by your decisions in all 3 games? - they can't

This is most like;y respnse that tehy will have , increased positive PR and flooding forums with people who praise anything that BW touches.

At least we know that refunds and PR are hurting them, otherwise they wouldn't do this.although it didn't work in case of DA II, once the truth was out about that one , no amount of PR stoped sales droping to zero in record time.

Welcome to PR war...

I loved the ending. Don't think your opinions is a consensus. Merely a vocal minority on internet forums.

Used to fill same as role, other titles. Antagonist, verbally demeaning people in defense of company. Felt intellectually superior. Somewhat like Hipster.

Reality: vocal minority speaks for the sincere majority. Also, obvious you don't care for ending. Simply want to make point. Point isn't legitimate. Would rather see game end in failure then be on side of people not in favor of Bioware.

It's okay, everyone has their flaws. You'll grow out of it some day.

They don't 'need' to 'change' the ending, just expand upon it with an post-indoctrination DLC.

This is a PR tatic ment to belittle the movement and possibly try to get a rise out of the members. Don't play into it! Stay Strong Stay Civil Hold the line!

But why would they want to do that? I'm very obviously showing my colors as a very naive librarian and not a business person because I just don't get why they would want to insult, belittle, or hurt a legimately devoted part of their fan base that is upset.

Ofcourse they do. Need to ignore the people that don't like the ending and hope they'll go away.

Still holding the line.

Do they think we're that stupid? What's their definition of plenty? This is an obvious attack on our movement to see if we'll break, but it WILL NOT happen.

I can't wait until PAX, it's going to be interesting... that's for sure. I think I might even go dressed up as Mass Effect 3's ending.

What's that? A strait jacket?

3 colored outfit, colors start from his ass maybe? :P

Closer, I was thinking of a red/green/blue striped shirt.

Question:

If so passionate, how much have pro-ending raised for charity?

BS. There are people who've never played the first two games and love the end. Why? BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOTHING INVESTED.

Those who have played all three games and COUNTLESS play throughs feel betrayed.

And if people "like" the ending so much, then why is it that NOT A SINGLE POLL even shows that more than 10% of the voters liked it? HMMMMM.

They can't change the ending. The fact that you people believe it's even a possibility is proof of your broken sensibilities.

I don't care how many people ask me to do something; if I don't believe them capable of giving useful direction, I will ignore them.

And what about adding new endings? How exactly does that negatively impair the current ones?

It does and I hope that is the case.

I parsed it the second way my first read through.  It doesn't really change my opinion on the matter of the ending being awful and amateurish.

Oh yeah, the ending is terrible, and they really need to fix it.

@beccathelion

I'm from Germany and now it is 23:37, don't know if the Twitter timestamp is created related to the creators time or the readers...well, never cared about this question to be honest.

But it seems to be my time, because it says "3 hours ago", which would make sense - so the post was created 20:00 Western Europe Time, so whatever northamerican time this is...

I've probably given more to charity this year than you have. Just not that charity.

By bringing that up, you are cheapening the involvement of Child's Play. You are making it clear that you did it for political leverage and not out of the goodness of your heart.

"Artistic Integrity" is a red herring guys. Paintings have been painted at the discretion of patrons for thousands of years. Books have been rewritten to be more audience friendly for new editions. Television series have been resurrected from the dead. Because "Artistic Integrity: is just how high your price is or isn't.

This is about money. There are enough of us that we could make a significant financial dent in Bioware's fiscal future. So long as we ensure they are aware that the money they will spend creating new (better) ending content is less then the money they will earn by appeasing this part of their core fan base, we can't lose.

I believe in artistic integrity.  I think it's what happens when you see a story or piece of artwork through to expressing its ultimate self - the most beautiful, true, and pure version of what you're trying to convey.

The current endings have no integrity.  They actively defeat everything the game works up to until that point. The real sign of artistic integrity would be something that better reflects the game's themes, structure, and promises up to that point.

Hold the line.  Calling someone small and inconsequential doesn't make them so unless they let it.

Just saw one on there:

algotoc: "the game is awesome but the ending is a ****ing ****. In my opinion"

mass effect: "thank you for sharing it with such eloquence and brevity"

This made me laugh in far more than it really should have done

You don't have to change the ending Bioware, just fix it!!! with indoctrination theory or by adding a choice that Shepard will really make at the end, not just pick red blue or green-____-. And many of your loyal fans will consider it an affront if you do nothing about the ending.
