And PLENTY of feedback from those who think the game is a tragic example of gaming and writing FAIL!

Come on, guys, we want to love your work! We want to love this game! Stop the denial, take this mistake in stride and fix this game!

Calls for changes, additions, or corrections to the ending were always futile. It's just not going to happen. I'm in the camp of people who just want the ending elaborated on and not be poorly told, so the the Normandy scene makes sense (characters on the beam run showing up in Normandy, why was ship going through a relay or ftl jump at all, etc.). That's fairly small request in my mind, relative to what others want, but it's never going to happen. The ending is what it is, and will not be changed.

I get the feeling that people who liked the ending are just more tolerant in general for writing problems, plot holes, deus ex machina and such. Not saying that as a knock on anyone, I just think that they see the issues, but just don't care enough about them for their own enjoyment to be affected.

It's funny because "plenty" dosn't give us an exact number.

If they aren't going to make any additions to it then they should lay of the PR say so and try and come up with a way that makes the game moddable by the community.

That way they can continue burying their head in the sand and pretending all is well while somebody else does it.

Can you not understand that at all? This has been going on for some time now. It doesn't seem to be moving anywhere, which is why people are getting angry.

The only thing that might help these forums is a confirmation on ending dlc, but the reason Bioware is silent is that they are probably checking their resources to see how far they can go to remake the last moments of ME3. Its gonna take a while but they cant make financial decisions like that without 1000000% certanty they can do it right.

Why are you guys getting so angry over a simple statement? All it is a twitter message saying some people liked the ending... You guys are honestly getting out of control. It's starting to scare me a bit, this whole retake movement is taking on a real cult mentality. It started out as a simple ending dlc movement, and it has quickly turned into a bunch of vile human beings spitting hate every which way if everyone doesn't agree with their opinion 100%

Miscategorization, laden with hyperbole.  Probably trolling.  Unfortunate.  By and large, Retake Mass Effect group wishes to engage in dialogue.

No need to try to start fires.

When ME1 was released, the internet lit up with positive reviews from the consumers.

When ME2 was released, the internet lit up with positive reviews from the consumers.

When ME3 was released, the internet lit up with negative reviews from the consumers.

Everyone took the positive feedback from the consumers for ME1 and ME2 to be legit.  Now that the same consumers are complaining about ME3 suddenly they are a "vocal minority"?  Sorry, neither you nor Bioware get to look one way for ME1/ME2 and look the opposite way for ME3.

Well said!

We just raised almost $100k. At least some of that could've gone towards the funding for the DLC if they'd confirmed it, heh.

But yes, a confirmation would help. This is where the anger comes from: people care this much about the series that they're becoming, essentially, desperate. I don't want my ME to be ruined.

They've just started doing that, mate.

In fact, this behaviour from them encourages our ire because it seems they only start to be unbiased when a flame gets lit under their arse.

They didnt "just started" doing that. Ive been camping their twitter for days now trying to get a question answered, that "thanks for the feedback, what you didnt like?" attitude has been there for several days now, I clearly remember it :?

Everyone with a Twitter account let them know how much of an affront it is to us, the dedicated fans of the developer and the franchise, to not offer DLC to change the current endings. Everyone! It will surely teach them never to post such nonsense on their Twitter page again unless they want 50 times more tweets telling them the contrary.

Don't spam, be constructive, be firm, and most importantly...

Hold the Line!

I've been arguing for almost two weeks. It's futile. Your arguments don't hold up when applied to the whole of the series, because you could use them to pick apart every single scene in this franchise that has inspired you to be so passionate. You are focusing like a laser on the ending and it is not granting you the perspective to avoid some of these ridiculous conclusions.

I've seen people ask why Sheperd believes the Catalyst? Why dopes he believe ANYONE? The entire series, he has accepted things at face value and run with them and only NOW do you have a problem with it? He had a hole in his stomach and had lost a lot of blood, exactly how defiant was he supposed to be at that moment?

That's just a sample argument. I'm not going to get into it anymore. I've been at it for a week and everyone is too entrenched at this point.

The beauty is, I don't have to argue. I will be proven correct when the ending is left alone. I mean, if you guys are right and your logic is sound, then Bioware will change it. If they don't, it means that there are huge gaps in your understanding of the implications. I doubt you'll admit it, though. Most of you will undoubtedly pout, rather than try to broaden your perspective and understand why things could not change.

Okay - perhaps you are somehow more enlightened than me. I would really like you to explain to me how the ending we have now is more fitting when taking the series as a whole into account. Personally, I feel like the ending completely invalidates everything Shepard has done in all three games. Every single system that has a relay in it should now be totally destroyed, according to what happened in Arrival. If for some reason that didn't happen, then at the very least all of the galaxy is now cut off from each other, and every alien species that were in our system helping us with Earth will never see their planets / familes again. Perhaps that fate is better than every species being culled, but it's not really all that satisfying to me.

Please, enlighten me, and explain to me why I should be satisfied. I'm not being sarcastic - I really want someone to logically explain to me this ending, and you seem to at least believe that you are capable of that. I consider myself fairly intelligent. I'm 43 and have been gaming most my life - starting with Pong in the 70s. I was, and still am, a huge fan of Infocom text adventures (Zork and the like). Been playing D&D since the 1st edition. I can solve both the original 3x3 Rubik's cube, and the 4x4 Rubik's Revenge. Occasionally I get lucky and can beat my computer at chess. I consider myself fairly capable at logical, structured thought. This ending, to me, makes little to no sense for the many reason I've stated, and others who feel like me have stated (why is joker running away, how did the crew members on the ground with you get to the ship, how is it possible that the ship outran the blast anyway, what is the point of the keepers if we have this Starchild, and I could go on forever.) However, I am a humble person and recognize there are many, many people in the world more capable than me. So, please, bestow understanding to me. Please. I'm honestly asking you to help me understand this ending.

Then understand that they arent confirming to make you angry, the angry fanbase is hurting their sales now. Its because they are probably trying to get the green light from EA, and $100k is probably what Seth Green would charge for a 5 seconds line... they probably need alot more money

Going to the Mass Effect twitter feed and accusing them of using PR tactics is like walking into a church and accusing everyone of praying.

Yeah, it's true. But were you really expecting something else?

Bioware will tell us when they've made a definitive decision. You'll know because it will be everywhere. Not just on twitter.

Not that I've seen you, but hey, nice try. It's futile because the endings can't be explained without a significant leap of faith.

Your arguments don't hold up when applied to the whole of the series, because you could use them to pick apart every single scene in this franchise that has inspired you to be so passionate.

Then why aren't people doing that? Serious question.

You are focusing like a laser on the ending and it is not granting you the perspective to avoid some of these ridiculous conclusions.

To the contrary, this whole fiasco has done nothing but improve people's perception of the two previous games. There really isn't anything that's remotely close to the travesty of a finale anywhere, that has been pretty clear.

I've seen people ask why Sheperd believes the Catalyst? Why dopes he believe ANYONE? The entire series, he has accepted things at face value and run with them and only NOW do you have a problem with it?

Give me one example of a time were Shepard accepts the questionable logic and ambiguity of an advesary as fact without attempting to question.

He had a hole in his stomach and had lost a lot of blood, exactly how defiant was he supposed to be at that moment?

His most defiant. This is the finale, the ultimate descision, the decider. Everything rides on his choice. Giving up at the crunch is out of character.

One would think that anyone would attempt to question such ambiguity considering the potential ramifications, let alone someone who is noted for his faith and determination and has a reputation for not going along with things wihout confronting their meaining before hand.

The beauty is, I don't have to argue. I will be proven correct when the ending is left alone.

We'll see about that.

When EA's supervising team let the big-wigs know how much money they could make out of a well made DLC, it will be a guarantee.

I mean, if you guys are right and your logic is sound, then Bioware will change it.

Not necessarily. The reasoning behind how the ending fails on so many levels is objectively sound by this point, but Bioware are driven more by revenue than simple good will.

If they don't, it means that there are huge gaps in your understanding of the implications.

It could mean a number of things. This would probably be the least likely.

I doubt you'll admit it, though. Most of you will undoubtedly pout, rather than try to broaden your perspective and understand why things could not change.

I could apply the same principle to those who argue against this so-called change.

It's fantastic to see you gloss over the optional DLC side of things, of course.

QFT.

Vocal minority...what a joke...we are not even vocal, we are writing!. And nothing that is vocal on a videogame stays on "minority", take as an example the guys at work hating the ending.

We must all agree that you can like the ending (you're the real minority but you can like it).
What you can't do, it's defend it, because it has
-Plotholes.
-It's only 1 ending.
-It's poorly developed.
-LOTS OF SPECULATIONS FROM EVERYONE.

And basically because you'll have to invent your own ending, wich can be good, but not for this game, specially not for this game...specially not good for a game that promised 16 diverse endings that answered all the big questions and bring closure. So no, im sorry, we're not a minority, we're not ruining art and we are not wrong. We want what they promised us, and what Mass Effect deserves.

To be fair, I think there are more people that dont like the ending. And that is why it should be fixed, it wont even harm the players that do like the ending. So I'm not even sure why people are arguing.

If you like the ending, fine!

If you dont like the ending and it gets changed from DLC, fine! Everyone happy.

There were someone that said that the endings might not even be at our liking, but can it get worse as it is for the players that dont like this ending? And if people get some happy endings it wont hurt anyone, it will in fact make things better than it is at the moment.

If you have read the book, you know this isn't how it was supposed to end..and the fact that it made it worse to a lot of people. Then yeah, maybe they should change it.

I'm actually against this current ending, but trying to see it from the POV of the people that like this ending.
