They don't care, they will change the ending if its economically viable. If they can prove to themselves that it isn't, they will just try to spin their way out and say good bye to a group of fans.

The first several times I read that, I was parsing it wrong:

@masseffect wrote...
We are getting plenty of feedback from people who love the ending and consider the thought of changing it an affront, as well.

At first, I though @masseffect was saying they considered changing the endings an affront. However, I think it should be parsed like this:

@masseffect wrote...
(We are getting plenty of feedback from) (people who love the ending and who consider the thought of changing it an affront) (as well).

In other words, @masseffect isn't saying they consider changing the endings an affront, but that they get feedback from people who feel that way. That being said, they do seem to be playing up those who like the ending as a larger group than they really are.

EDIT: Added ()'s to delineate sentence blocks in second quote box

Changing the ending would indeed be an affront, keep your artistic integrity Bioware, don't let this vocal minority drag you down.

The vast majority of people who want an Ending DLC are asking for additional endings, not a change to existing, so your point is dead in the water.

However, I'm going to refrain now from smashing such posts because I get the feeling this a goal for them.

If Bioware weighs praise more than valid arguments then they are making an awful mistake.

They shall keep their stupid ending, if they want to.
Add more options and/or give us a decent epilogue, Bioware and i for my part would be happy.

There's plenty more who disagree and would consider it an affront if they didn't change it.

Yea.

Amazon and origin are apparently accepting refunds. (havent checked, but heard)

Besides, they dont need to change it if they explain it. Very, very well.

lol is origin accepting refunds? If that's true, EA has pretty much admitted that there's a valid reason for people to want to return the product.

Stay calm, everybody. It's PR shenanigans. The whole 'vocal minority' thing is just an effort to demoralize and make us look bad so that we disperse and stop complaining. The percentages don't add up to it at all.

Hold the line.

I loved the ending. Don't think your opinions is a consensus. Merely a vocal minority on internet forums.

Used to fill same as role, other titles. Antagonist, verbally demeaning people in defense of company. Felt intellectually superior. Somewhat like Hipster.

Reality: vocal minority speaks for the sincere majority. Also, obvious you don't care for ending. Simply want to make point. Point isn't legitimate. Would rather see game end in failure then be on side of people not in favor of Bioware.

It's okay, everyone has their flaws. You'll grow out of it some day.

So tell me, just exactly how does acting rude to Bioware employees encourage them to provide us with additional content to briing about a better ending?

Yes, you're supposed to put pressure on them but do so firmly yet civil.
If you're going to lash out at them then it's counter productive and pushing them more towards not doing anything just to put you into place.

Be patient.

Diplomacy is a two way street. If they are going to be rude and dismissive of us then we aren't going to get anywhere.

You have  a good point but the problem with that this that they are negotiating with many many people not one group.   Many of us have been much worse than the other side and many of us have been much more civil than the other side.

Hello, I'm Bioware, and I'd like to take this opportunity to push loads of fans away, just to make sure we earn less money than we could.

Logical isn't it.

They didn't mean that they considered it an affront, they meant that the people who love the ending thought of it as an affront. It was just poorly worded.

I wonder if the release of the Director's Cut of Blade Runner was also considered an affront and a sacrilege. It's not like it made the original movie disappear... hm...

So how far exactly are you willing to use artistic integrity to cover for flat-out shoddy execution?

A game that blatantly failed to deliver on a host of pre-release promises regarding the nature of the ending and clearly falls short of the interactive standard set by the rest of the series?  An abundance of evidence suggesting that the ending was a product of hasty, eleventh-hour rewrites and changes?

Are you honestly going to ignore the jarring discontinuity in tone, the hasty deus ex machina resolution, and the  internal contradictions and try to tell me that there's nothing going on here but pure artistic expression?

If fans recognize that this game falls short in a critical area and that the company lost their way, what exactly is the problem with trying to get the message across that their product is broken?  In an age of DLC and frequent content patches, why is it so crazy to think that Bioware could acknowledge the faults and act to expand the ending to bring it up to the standards of the previous games?

Then again, when you consider how many people are lining up to do Bioware's PR work for them (much in the way they counted on us to fill in their half-formed sketch of an ending for them), I guess it's not surprising they felt they could get away with this.

Consider this: why is someone able to ctrl+c and ctrl+v such a response if said response is in the minority? Since, surely, that would mean it is not widespread?
