Why don't some people want to believe shep is indoctrinated?

Also because it would come from absolutely no where. No hints or lead up or anything, just suddenly "Shep's indoctrinated". Shepard's death on the other hand was actually hinted at many times during the game.
Do I want Shepard to die? Of course not. It makes a lot more sense to the story though then a sudden onset of mind control.

And yet I have still to hear a SINGLE argument as to why Shepard wakes up on Earth in the destruction ending that makes any sense whatsoever.
Have you considered it's just supposed to be the wreckage of the citadel? It's only your assumption that it's earth.

I don't want the indoctrination theory to be real because indoctrinated people become thralls then die within weeks.
Over sooooo many years my guess is the natrual evolution of the universe is coming. One in which it is becoming harder and harder to indoctrinate each species ( survival mechanism ) to the point where one day they will be completely immune to it. Maybe Shepard is the first step in that.
Its also stated that depending on how long the indoctrination takes, how slowly it is done the 'thrall' can live for years before becoming that mindless husk. Its in the codex IIRC.

Its earth and the assumption would be that Shepard never left earth to begin with but is in fact still laying there infront of the beam.

Keep in mind this is the guy that googled 1M1, saw a picture of a resistor and decided that meant Shepard's mind was telling him/her to resist.
You just can't argue with that level of crazy.

That's right, last time I checked the Citadel was made of shiny metal not concrete with metal poles holding things together.
Also there wouldn't be any rubble if the Citadel blew up, it would fly away in space.

I'm sorry, I really feel the need to pop in here and comment on this. It's utterly ridiculous.
You're claiming that your theory...your speculation, mind you, is somehow more accurate than someone else's speculation that they just left it in there as an easter egg, or that it was left over footage from before they scrapped the indoctrination ending? How do either of those make any less sense than the conspiracy theory based on nothing but fan input?

Perhaps it is because they don't like this kind of ending (like thinking fight club was epic except for the end)?
Uh, because it's not effing true. It's not the ending. It's made up crap. Does that answer your question?

But the VI on Thessia not sensing any indoctrination when it could tell Kai Leng was indoctrinated from 500 ft away just shoots down the entire idea for me. Using the theory now would just be a cop out.

No one knows what the citadel is made out of, it's not stated anywhere. Your last statement is a complete guess.
You don't know anything about what happened, none of us do.

ME? NO dude I am one of the biggest and loudest poeple AGAINST the insane Indoc Theory. It is insanity plain and simple
The little scene at the end of they left was nothing more then a bonus for a high EMS and working hard. Nothing more, nothing less. It's pretty ****ing obvious too.

Why the **** would you leave a cliffhanger Easter egg at the end of a planned trilogy
Why the **** would you sell an incomplete game?
It's all speculation. Nothing is fact at this point because BioWare has neither confirmed or denied it. Everything you claim is fact is nothing but fan-based speculation because it is only coming from one source: the fans.

And about this indoctrinated theory..didn't shepard spend less time around reapers than the resistance forces back on Earth, like Anderson? Something tells me that they should be indoctrinated as Shepard and the rest comes to "take back Earth".
I wouldn't mind if one of the possible endings would be that Shepard gets indoctrinated, but not all of them. And I really dont like the idea that they changed the ending to be like this. It's just bad.

Three main reasons:
1. Would be a big middle finger to people who like current ending.
2. Not set up well enough to be clear to most players, even in retrospect.
3. Fails to address what actual final Reaper confrontation would be.
So, atm, I don't favor it. However, if the current ending stands, I'll adopt it whole-heartedly.
