Is well worth it. Javik is pretty awesome.

Javik's scene when being picked up by the normandy on earth almost jerked a tear from my eye.

I finally took him to Thessia last playthrough and it was well worth it. The nonchalant nature with which he destroys Liara's perception of her own race....awesome.

I didn't know Garrus was the favorite one.

My list: Shepard, Wrex, Mordin, Thane, Samara, Javik and Miranda because you know why.

Marauder Shields will always be in our hearts too.

Kaidan: He doesn't play to many of the stereotypes of being badass or a generic soldier. He's very reserved, sensitive and very loyal. He holds a more sensible attitude on galactic affairs. He's and all round nice guy who doesn't need to show off to earn respect. Plus I feel a brotherly relationship between Shepard and Kaidan reinforced by Shepard's line of calling Kaidan his brother.

I like Kaidan too, he's in my top 5.

I can't pick just one.

Kaidan, I liked everything about him.  I liked his personality, his kindness and yes, the romance. In ME3 I loved hearing him ask Shepard to wake him up next time.

Garrus was my best friend in ME2.  We blew up things together and the one time I did his romance it was sweet.

Jack was my surprise character.  I did not like her the first couple of times I played.  But then she died saving Miranda and then I was nicer to her, even supported her over Miranda a few times.  Then one of my few male Shepards romanced her, was kind to her and I really REALLY enjoyed seeing her developed into someone I actually liked.

Mordin became one of my favorites when he sang.

I actually liked all of them.  But these 4 were my favorite out of everyone.

In ME3, I enjoyed talking to Steve and Sam, sort of wish I had met them sooner.

"Becase you wish to end the war with your honor intact. Stand among the ashes of a trillion dead souls, and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence will be your answer."

"It was the day I understood: war is atrocity committed in the name of survival. It is a lesson I wish I had never learned."

Javik: It is the only "box" I have known. It shapes me, as stone is shaped by the one who carves it. The stone has no choice in the form it will take. You and I, Commander...war is our sculptor. And we are prisoners to its design.

Why do you like those lines?

Characters I liked:

Garrus - He was loyal, fun to be around, and a damn good sniper. Couldn't get enough

Kaidan - He needed a gameplay boost in ME1, but I liked his character and in ME3, he was cool. He romances my FemSheps

Mordin - That bastard is funny! Not to mention his loyalty mission is the coolest

Tali - She's sweet, I love her voice, and her dialogue is gripping

Honorable Mention

Samara - I like her because her character is very alien. She's different

Why do you like those lines?

Because they are among the best lines written for the series. They were also voiced well by Ike Amadi.

Do you agree with these things? That honor doesn't matter, that choice doesn't exist, and that war is atrocity?

Why does it matter to you David that those are his favorite lines? If you don't like the answers he provides, are you going to resort to personal attacks like you usually do? If so, what's the point?

Lack of heroism detected! His David sense is tingling. Must educate the savages! Behold the skimpily-clad characterization!

You don't necessarily have to agree with a character to enjoy their dialogue or the delivery.

Plenty of villains even have great dialogue.

Case in point

The voice and the delivery, maybe. But that's just acting.

But if the message behind it all is ridiculous...how can you appreciate that? I could appreciate in the sense of a worthy challenge if Shepard had something to say in rebuttal to counter and trump it. But most unfortunately, that happens in none of these conversations.

(*sigh* What am I doing?)

Why do you consider the following lines to be ridiculous David?

"It was the day I understood: war is atrocity committed in the name of survival. It is a lesson I wish I had never learned."

"It is the only "box" I have known. It shapes me, as stone is shaped by the one who carves it. The stone has no choice in the form it will take. You and I, Commander...war is our sculptor. And we are prisoners to its design."

I'm not going to bother asking about the "honor" quote since I already know where you stand on that one. But what's wrong with the other two quotes? I especially fail to see how the first one is "ridiculous". Perhaps war isn't always carried out in the name of survival, but that doesn't make Javik's statement wrong either.

I actually would have gone with this one myself.

But yes, I agree with the general point. Heck, even weak and ineffectual characters can be compelling (see Fredo Corleone's "I'm smart and I want respect!" speech from The Godfather, Part II). Although who am I kidding? I just wanted an excuse to link those scenes.

It's certainly an embarrassment that you resort to childish nonsense such as that to deride a possible romance. Perhaps your friends on Facebook or whatnot are impressed with that. Maybe we can have a conversation about this topic when you learn to speak like an adult.

The first quote is ridiculous in it's utter contradiction.

It's a quote I wouldn't mind hearing at all from a civilian or a refugee. Or for a fresh soldier who joined to fight for something good and was disappointed by the outcome.

But it comes from Javik. Who delights in the genocide of the krogan and geth, who advises violence as the solution to all problems, and who I'm sure advocates murder at the drop of at hat when taken on missions. The hypocrisy is repulsive.

Now make no mistake, the hypocrisy itself is exactly the natural and expected words from a character like Javik. The problem is that Shepard fails to address it for what it is, and thus, so does the narrative.

 .....was this an "answer" to my question?...If so,.....what? I was referring to the other quotes.....

Wow. Admitting you don't take him out on missions and denouncing him as if you have any clue what you're talking about in the same post.

Is that the best argument you have? I rarely take Javik on missions, so I don't understand him?

Pathetic. I max out every conversation with Javik. Should I go to every single post whining about Liara, EDI or anyone else and use the same argument, seeing as it's pretty much inevitable that if a player doesn't like a character, he won't take them on missions?

Ah. When you said "first quote", I thought you meant the "honor" quote I mentioned before. *shrug*, too tired to adequately focus.

Still, I believe that statement is made late in the game by Javik. Could it not be a personal reflection? Perhaps a turning point in his life? What's wrong with that?
