Wait, why are we talking about this? I thought this thread was, "Favorite character," and not "Why your favorite character sucks."

Anyways, I'll go with Mordin, Legion (ME2), Ashley (ME1) and Wrex. From the list of villains, I'd probably go with Vasir, and that's pretty much it. And of course, no list of best characters is complete without the two most enduring and brilliant characters from the entire series, Ethan Jeong and Elias Keeler (not to be confused with Elias Kelham).

It might be a turning point if the experience in question happened now instead of however many decades ago for him. As it stands, he claims to have learned his lesson, but his actions and words don't reflect it in the slightest. If it didn't happen then, it's not going to happen now.

Probably Garrus, but man there are a ton. I'd say Garrus overall, but Thane, Mordin, Miranda, Grunt, Wrex, Saren. So, so many.

Also renegade femshep.... Hilarious. Hale is great.

I would be curious at what you would say having been waken up 50 000 years later knowing your the last of your species with no care for the current species?

It doesn't matter.

No amount of abuse, trauma, or loss ever justifies evil. A monster with a tragic past is still a monster, and is to be treated as such. Although calling Javik a 'monster' gives him far too much credit. He's really far too cowardly for that.

Fair enough. I didn't dislike any character(except Kai Lame), but here are my favorites

My favorites squadmates are (in no particular order) Garrus, Liara, Wrex, Kaidan(that's right, I said it. come at me), Tali, Mordin, Grunt, Jack, Legion(ME2), Kasumi, and Javik.

Favorite NPCs- Shiala, Conrad Verner, Aria, the con-man in the casino(Turian, can't remeber his name), Raan, Aethyta, and Niftu Cal the biotic god.

Honorable Mentions-Gabby, Ken, Kelly, Adams, Chakwas, Samantha, Joker, and Steve.

It does matter when you're facing annilation. If evil is what stops the reapers then you can bet I will use evil no matter how sickening it may be.

But David how does any of that make Javik a bad character?

'Bad' as in 'narratively bad'? It doesn't make Javik narratively bad at all. What's bad is that these statements of his go unchallenged.

What would you say to challenge him?

What would you say to challenge him?

That The Shepard Has Seen Many Die Too, And Honor Still Matters.

That was the gist of it last time when he went head-to-head with Massive.

Ask him why war only seems to be an 'atrocity' when he's hurt by it, and a good thing anywhere else.

This was his response when asked in another thread. Source

David wrote

Truth is not dependent on whether Javik gets anything out of it or not. It's not Shepard's concern.

I think Shepard should have listed the things he's seen and lost - the men on Elysium or Torfan or Akuze, Ashley or Kaidan on Virmire, the destruction at the Battle of the Citadel, stand a foot from Javik and tell him honor matters.

Shepard may of seen and lost a lot but he/she hasn't seen the last of his/her species wiped out like Javik has.

Nothing a sufficiently Paragon attitude can't fix!

I can't believe David actually thinks that war is a good thing from an ethical or moral perspective.

Granted, I think war has its own flame, but for entirely different reasons, more in line with Javik and a Renegade Shepard.

I entirely beg to differ. In fact, I think you have no idea at all what you're talking about. With anything in this statement.

I think you're just mad that your paragon feathers got ruffled.

I will say, Javik does say a few things here and there, presumably the writer making a bit of a joke out of the darkness that is his functionally extinct life.

In my cycle, people who skip the line at the supermarket would be torn limb from limb by the hungriest patrons. The one to get the head would take their groceries home for free.
