I also LOVE Drunk Tali. I hate sober Tali.

I also love drunk AND sober Grunt. Grunt is especially amazing at the party in ME3. I would've taken Grunt with me everywhere on my current playthrough were it not for that fact that I decided earlier that this was going to be my Garrus Bromance run.

:D  I see Liara as the best LI for femshep. She probably has some of the best scenes for a character, but she loses points for the friendzoning in ME3 and being slightly weird in ME1.
I should caveat this in that I haven't tried her as a non LI (only done 3 complete trilogy runs).

Edit to add: I really like the Asari Commando as she is the only really 'ordinary' Asari we meet and is battling to save her home and her people, yet sacrifices herself to help Shep knowing she will most likely die.
Those radio calls as kai leng buggers off in his magic gunship are really sad.

The constant fainting in ME1 was really unnecessary. Once was fine (after Therum), but every time was a little annoying. I think Liara's writing in both LotSB and ME3 is a huge improvement over her dialogue in ME1 (the writing for the other squadmates also improved, except Ashley's). While I like Drew as a story writer, he doesn't have Chris L'Etoile's or Patrick Weekes/Sylvia Feketekuty's flair for character writing.

I liked the cheering asari in the epilogue ^_^

Ashley Williams, ME1 version.

Tough, opinionated, unafraid to state the unpopular.  But fiercely loyal.

Loyalty is secondary to results.

I would say that depends on the person. I know you're military and know more about this field of work, but still what someone values more is.highly subjective.

I personally value loyalty more than results. This comes from having friends who aren't exactly bright in fact they get me in more trouble than it's worth, but i've known them since childhood and I know that they will always have my back. Now i'm not a doormat, but it is nice to know I have people who will support me unconditionally.

If that someone isn't able to produce results they become a liability and therefore need to be removed and have someone brought in that can produce results.

Having someone you trust to have your back, even if they disagree with your philosophy or outlook, helps get results

Like I said that's subjective and changes from person to person. I'd rather have someone who I known will always have my back than some cold calculating ******* who only cares about results. It's nice having somone who will have your back when you stupidly get into a fight with someone who os twice you size and isn't even of the same gender.

I don't trust her to have my back. I don't trust her to get results. I don't trust her to do what I want her to do when I need her to do it. I have to have a reason to trust her. I can't just scope by having her trust me. Leadership is a two way street. Her philosophy and outlook will likely inhibit the desired end state I want.

T.I.M. is one of the reasons I would join Cerberus in a heartbeat. I will do many things ensure the surivial of Humanity with or without the help of Aliens. I am not anti alien; I am just pro human

I'd say the smart thing is to not get into a stupid, senseless fight. Cold, calculating people who care about results will get you your results. Give them proper cause and reason to do it, and they'll be loyal and willing to help you and work for you. It's not mutually exclusive. The guy who has my back no matter what may not get the results I want. That means that I can't get the results that I want. That means that I've failed in my objective.

See now we're getting into how you feel about Ashley. Loyalty and trust while not mutually exclusive are two different entities. I don't have to trust someone for them to be loyal to me and vice versa.

Now you could argue about how the level of distrust can effect loyalty. If you are vocal with your distrust of someone then yes their loyaly will decline. If you're discreet however you can still keep someones loyalty while.keeping you distance.

Now my opinion of Ashley is diffrent then yours as I am probably one of the biggest Ashley marks there is (don't know if mark is really used outside of the wrestling community, but what the hell) and you have a clear distaste for the character. We will never agree on how must Shepard trusts Ashley, but we can at least respect each others opinion on the matter.

Not to sound like The Internet Police, but can we not have a thread where people talk about their favourite characters and why, without taking potshots at other characters/people's choices?

I love the metric hell out of Samara. Uncompromising, aggressive, and principled. She is the best space paladin.

(I also love Garrus most of all, but I'm too much of a hipster to say that.)

Honestly, I love pretty much everyone...

Except Avina.

People talk about Liara hate, but if anyone even mentions Ashley it's like an army of 3 or 4 against the world
