Just one?
Just one?
Ya, I know. I was going to post a top 10 but even that was difficult.
Oh, and Liara, Garrus, Jack, Samara, Wrex, Grunt, Vasir, Parsini, Xen and Gabby.
ME2 Miranda fallowed by Javik and Mordin.

While Miranda's change wasn't as radical as some other peoples, I do miss the Miranda who shot Wilson.
Although I guess her's was a not so much a character transformation as it was character hiding, like presumably she was would still be the kind of person to shoot Wilson again but it never comes up.

Yeah, that's more or less what it is I'd say. The ME2 aspect is there, but she's had a bit of character growth in learning how to be more open, and she's defrosted a bit as an ice queen. She's always going to have her ruthless and severe streak, but she's gotten more in touch with her personal feelings as well. She's become a happier person with the passing of her father and reaffirmation of her own capabilities and identity.
Steve Cortez: I honestly feel like Bioware watched me and decided to put me on the screen. It's eerie/delightful to see a dark skinned minority character, who's gay, who also is just there. No gimmick, no stereotype, just a guy who lost his husband and is still making it through.
James Vega: the bromance between him and Steve is amazing. A guy who failed, and is in the middle of the war, but at the same time never loses his sense of self while in that war.
Kaidan: my first ever husbando...\
Finally...Corporal Toombs: For some reason I made a huge connection with him during ME when I played my SS Shepard. I really wished he would have made a comeback either as a temp squaddie or at least an NPC during a mission. Plus I have a personal headcanon that he is Steve's Robert...
Zaeed, dude was really awesome.
Zaeed, dude was really awesome.
He was a goddamn hero. RIP Robin Sachs
Liara & Garrus.
Javik would be a close third. I'm actually surprised that Javik hasn't been mentioned much. He has some of the best lines in the series, and I'm not even talking about his trollish commentary. Also he had one of the better VAs.
I like the majority of the characters really but my favourites would probably be Tali, ME2 TIM, Garrus, Javik and Liara.
Miranda, Mordin, Samara and Kasumi aren't far behind.

What lines would those be?
Close second to zaeed though is James Vega. I like the less extreme, more down to earth sort of people, and in my opinion he fits the bill.

"Becase you wish to end the war with your honor intact. Stand among the ashes of a trillion dead souls, and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence will be your answer."
"It was the day I understood: war is atrocity committed in the name of survival. It is a lesson I wish I had never learned."
Javik: I do not think your asari approves of my beliefs.
Shepard: Liara? I just think she had a different idea about what Protheans were like.
Javik: We are all a product of our time. Had I been born in this cycle, perhaps I would be the noble scholar she wishes me to be.
Shepard: You think you'd like that? It's a whole different line of work.
Javik: I wouldn't know. Living a life of constant war, taking life in every battle...
Shepard: I see how it could be tough to see outside the box.
Javik: It is the only "box" I have known. It shapes me, as stone is shaped by the one who carves it. The stone has no choice in the form it will take. You and I, Commander...war is our sculptor. And we are prisoners to its design.

The man should be a poet.

"Way I figure it, a coffeemaker is really just a miniature bomb"
He was awesome.

Never really liked the guy... except in Citadel DLC when he plays that game.
Wrex, Grunt, ME2 Garrus, Zaeed, ME1 Ash.
Garrusntali. Next playthrough I'm taking Javik everywhere and that may shake things up.

Is well worth it. Javik is pretty awesome.
Javik's scene when being picked up by the normandy on earth almost jerked a tear from my eye.

His conversation with Samara during the party is pretty hilarious.....
My favorite character is Kal'Reegar even if he gets wasted by Bioware.
