I guess average player age is based on purchase power (not only game related but supportive medium related, such as PC or whatever), free time and interest. So I presume the average age depends on culture. Not many in their late teenage can afford to buy games in Hungary of this price. The problem with mid 20s is, that they don't often have the time to play as they work 12 hours a day. Late 50s are not very comfortable with computers generally here. That would leave 30-40 year old people as main purchasers.

But that's just a totally of my hat speculation on my part.
