...to describe the satisfaction that my last play-through brought.
Never have I seen such a heart-moving cutscene in a game before, as the one after the ultimate sacrifice, with Alistair, as the new king, held his speech at a ceremony held in Redcliffe for his dear friend, social.bioware.com/playerprofile.php.
Seeing that her brother did indeed not die at Ostagar, and hearing all those good words. It really made those 47 hours worthwhile.
Thank you BioWare, I'd never think a game would ever move me this much, not even after Mass Effect, but this ending nearly brought tears to my eyes.
P.S.: Apparently the site hasn't updated properly to reflect my last progress at the time I am posting this, even though the character is the correct level, and the appropriate achievements are uploaded.
I have have no words...

Sacrificing my character is on the todo-list for me, looking forward to seeing that cutscene.
Apparently the parsing of characters only works a week or so every now and then, it took 2 weeks before my level 7 showed up as level 18 and now my second character is stuck at 15, being 21 currently.

Aye that was my first ending and I almost teared up after Alistairs speech.(male mage romancing morrigan)
First I was sad and then I was furious and then I was sad and then I came to these forums to try to find answers but sadly there were only more questions. =(

I didn't feel sadness when Alistair volunteered to sacrifice himself, though I felt respect.
But for some reason, I felt more attachment to the Casteless Dwarf origin characters (his sister and friend Leske) than Alistair. And in my first completed game, I actually picked Alistair as one of my party members most of the time too.

I wasn't too keen on the funeral scene myself. I thought that all my party members would come up with a eulogy (I blame Oghren for this - he had them boozing when they should have been mourning). Fergus also popped up as this was my Human Noble run, which made me go "erm, couldn't you have sent a letter since I recently, publicly stayed at Arl Eamon's estate for a month?".

speech is nice indeed...its still on my "to do domeday list"
both plays for me now... i cant be persuaded to die for "the cause". As dwarf commoner i always had a talent for outsmarting unwinable conditions, and morrigan provided me with the gift to outsmart death itself.
And as human noble i got . dissapointed in the current way ferelden was ruled, so i had to become king and anora as my support and social face to the world. For this i had to get rid of 2 concurrents for the thorne and anora's dedication.
used allistairs revance to get rid of loghain and afterwards i let him die for the cause... so had a free raod to the throne

I was seriously considering it, but it wouldn't have been true to my character to die. He trusted Morrigan and so the baby made sense, even though he was good.
My next play through I plan to have a female human noble warrior that sacrifices herself for Alistair though, I look forward to seeing the ending. =)

That was basicly what I did. Though my character was bi, and couldn't make the choice when Alistair made the ultimatum, so instead of sacrificing herself to her love, she did it for a highly valued friend. What happened to Leliana after the epilogue was curious, though, and raised a couple of questions. She left saying "she would finally be reunited with her love", so what truly might have happened to her piqued my curiosity, was she truly approached by the Maker? Was there some other, larger force at play? Had she decided to wander Thedas instead of wallowing in grief? Or had her grief simply pushed her over the edge?Detrodam wrote...

So many questions, yet no answers within sight.
