In response to this and the people that claim it's a vocal minority, can someone work some Youtube magic on this? I think it's very pertinent.
EDIT: Ironically enough I just realized that Insurrection is related to the children rebelling against their parents. Just a side note.
Wow, oops. Totally meant to hit edit on the first one. Now I look like I'm talking in third...type, text...? Blast.

Stay Civil, Don't burn out, take a break and come back in a few days, and above all else, hold the line, we will have our endings.

To be fair, someone has probably sprung the question on him and he hasn't fully researched it. By looking at places like IGN it comes across as a vocal minority and from the outside his comment is fair enough. If they did cave to a minority it would be bad for future business. However if we can prove that its the majority or a big enough minority of the fanbase that hated the endings then that situation changes dramatically.
Raging when somewhere like IGN makes an ill informed video or obviously inflammatory piece for hits is fair enough. But I think its unfair to expect everyone who gets asked about the situation in an interview to have an insiders understanding of the situation. He could have given those quotes last week when media spin was still largely burying the issue.

That was my first thought. Then, does he even own a computer and know how to turn it on? But I'd also say there's a big difference between someone who just played ME 3 once, compared to people who have multiple plays on the whole series.
It would be the height of irony if EA send him a free copy of ME 3.

If more than fifty thousand people are telling you your product is bad, within two weeks of release, AND they're motivated enough to take the time to express their dissatisfaction, you can be confident in betting that there are a lot more that are dissatisfied but quiet as they write off your company as a provider of goods and services.
Estimates of vocal complainers (those who take action) versus the quiet ones that you never know that you've lost as a customer, range between one in nine and one in twenty seven. The studies that produce these numbers are reputable and tracked in professional public relations journals; nearly every PR firm out there has run studies like this.
Keep that in mind. For those fifty thousand who are actively complaning, there could be another four hundred thousand to one million, three hundred thousand, who are quietly disgusted by an inferior product.
Mass Effect has sold maybe two million copies. That means anywhere from a quarter to three fifths of your players dislike Mass Effect 3's ending.
That's not a "vocal minority". That's a serious business problem.

Wait, what?! I'm begging anyone to find me a single objective review of any game that's been released in the past 10 years. Does he even know what objective means?!"Mass Effect 3 is the highest-rated game of the year and one of the highest-rated games ever", Pachter pointed out. "That means that objective reviews think it is just fine, making repercussions highly unlikely."
By their very nature, game reviews are completely subjective. They are prone to the reviewers biases, past experiences and tastes. To state otherwise is an utter fallacy.

He's actually a rather likable guy, but just remember that being an analyst, it's his job to give his opinion on the industry as much as possible, even if it's a snap judgment. This isn't a shot at him or his profession, it's just that successful financial analysts tend to be the ones who are willing to give assessments that prove completely wrong than not give assessments at all.
It's been awhile since I've watched him, but I remember plenty of predictions of his that never panned out, such as various specifics on Wii-HD or major commercial success of The Saboteur. It's just the nature of the business.

If you read the quotes he never actually said the words very small minority.
You're absolutely right. He says vocal minority - not "very small minority."
"There will be no impact on Electronic Arts as a company unless they
cave to the vocal minority and create an alternate ending," suggested
Pachter.

Second expect this thread to get locked, it's highly off topic for this forum.
Third, again, please stop bashing this guy in the way it's been going on. He's been wrong consistently in the past, and this is no different. Take it and move on, please.
