For reference, this is the guy in the video below. I'm currently trying to find his email.

His twitter account: twitter.com/#!/michaelpachter

Already sent him a tweet about this (a civil one ;) )

Civil? Why?

We need nothing from him - DESTROY this imbecile.

If you do that you'll hurt every single one of us and every thing we're working for. You'll be proving all of our critics right.

From the original post

Mass Effect 3" is the highest-rated game of the year and one of the highest-rated games ever, Pachter pointed out. "That means that objective reviews think it is just fine, making repercussions highly unlikely."

The part I have the most problem with isn't his sarcastic know it all tone its the fact he says the OBJECTIVE reviews ..... well moron guess what there inst a dam thing OBJECTIVE about 90% of the reviews from the main stream media. This is from the same bunch of shamless clowns that gave rave reviews to Kingdoms of Amalur which is a giant steaming heap or rehashed WOW garbage and not even done well mind you. Therefore Mr. Michael Pachter you can go **** yourself thank you and good night

A movie came out. It was a weirdo Ben Stiller flick called "Dodgeball".

The original cut had the protagonist beaten in the end and beaten very non-challantly. When viewed by the sample crowd before release, the testers said they hated it. It was a funny ride all the way to the ending where they left somewhat pissed off.

The director shot the entire ending scene again before release. The movie is much different than what was originally planned and ended in a much better way.

Keep that in mind while these pissants on their websites keep taking pot shots at the, very understandably, irate crowd.

Can anyone please point to the data that says that disliking the endings is the minority opinion?

That was just childish... please do nothing further of the sort. Hell, even apologizing for that tweet would be nice. You just gave all of our enemies more ammunition.

Erm...I don't think this matters at all, because all anyone has to do is google the user reviews of ME3 to see the ratings that actually matter. Just because a magazine, or some "official" critic gives the game a great review, it doesn't matter.

I look at the user reviews, NOT the official ones. User reviews are always more accurate from movies, restaurants to GAMES especially. Also, read the comments, people who gave the games scores in the 8-9 range still commented that the ending was lacking horribly, or "does not matter".

Sad to see such a great game with so many awesome people involved fall so hard.

"At the end of "Mass Effect 3," the Earth is not saved, and there isn't much players can do about it."

Well, give the man a pat on the back for perfecting the field of "Missing The Point". Look at this comment regarding the Titanic.

"It's like suing James Cameron because the Titanic sank at the end of the movie, he continued, emphasizing that the game is fiction, and the complainants have "to grow up and accept that."

Oh, no Michael. That's not what I'm saying. I HAVE ACCEPTED THIS ENDING and the potential decision by Bioware that they will stand by it regardless. What you must understand from my point of view is with that acceptance also comes resolution, and no resolution is ever the same. My resolution from accepting this ending has painted Bioware as a company who willingly cheapened what could have been their greatest game and mislead the gaming community about how their experiences and choices would have a dramatic effect in the game's outcome.

And the comment for fans who hated the ending being a small minority? The fact that this article even exists contradicts that. You don't post articles involving small minorities and you certainly don't post articles every time someone sues some company over silly things. You took notice because we are not a minority.

Bro, it was all a lie in the first place.  I sent no such thing.

Was trying to get some lulz out of a friend on these forums reading this with me.

Thanks. The last thing we need is to be giving our critics are exactly the kinds of quotes they're looking for. This isn't a place where you're having a conversation with a few close friends, behind closed doors. This is a message board available to almost everyone in the entire world where they can see your posts. Every word we speak reflects the movement as a whole.

Countless news articles from major news networks are covering this controversy. They wouldn't be covering this movement if it was just a "minority".

Like most journalists, the article writer doesn't bother letting facts get in the way of a story.

The article itself states that neither Bioware nor the FTC provided any information so there is no basis to conclude that only a tiny minority are unsatisfied with the ending.

Right, I get it.

I rarely do things like this.  I planned on getting rid of it as soon as my RL friend read it anyways, which was just right now.  Lulz achieved.  No harm done. :P

1. This guy is a supposed "analyst" he makes outrageous claims that almost never turn out to be true, so why should I or anyone else believe whatever crap he comes up with?

2. "Objective reviews"? Are you f*cking kidding me? Reviews ARE NEVER objective. They are the opinion of a writer about a game. Some writers give a game 7.5, others give it a 9 some reviews about the same game vary even more, why? Because reviews are based on opinions, not facts and are therefore subjective. Not to mention, some companies are just biased (IGN) which makes their reviews as far from objective as can be. Just goes to show how much he knows.

3. He talks about the "business side of games"???? Wow... Jus wow.
Apparently he doesn't know sh*t about businesses either. We might be a minority, but we're far from a small one. We're just the hardcore gamers and fans that actually are trying to accomplish something, but I can guarantee because I've seen it, there are MANY more gamers that were completely dumbfounded and baffled by how big of a disappointment the ending was... They just don't feel like changing it. However it is we the hardcore gamers and fans that have the greater say on a game because we're more vocal about it and thus by word of mouth more people get interested in what we promote. You don't want your most loyal customers going against you... Trust me on that.

4. It won't affect EA???
I'd like to point out there's about 50.000 gamers angry about what happened. Some of us won't buy EA/BioWare games again and we certainly won't buy their DLC. I'd also like to point out some gamers are looking for refunds, some are cancelling their SWTOR accounts, some are bombing the consumer Reviews in sites like Metacritic. The overall critic review may be high, but the consumer reviews are as low as can be. The price of the game has already been lowered in many outlets only 2 weeks after release, and some gamers even returned their copies meaning there's a possibility people who haven't bought the game yet buy the used version which means money not going to EA/BioWare. It's also safe to assume we are the ones that buy Collector's editions from them... For a company that makes billions, we may not be much, but they will notice it.

To an above poster, user reviews are more of a joke than official ones. Way too many fanboys/bashers.

Meh. Pachter is a penpusher that thinks he knows something about gaming because he plays Skyrim. I'm guessing he's making his prognostics based on tarot, or an ouija board, since he seems to be wrong as often as he's right...

I'm surprised to see the vitriol directed at Mr. Pachter here. I'm a fan of his show on Game Trailers, and while he doesn't get everything right, maybe we should be a bit more tolerant of the opinions of others.

And no, he's not paid by EA. He's a former tax lawyer turned equities analyst, and he focuses on the media industry. Unlike some other equity analysts, he happens to buy the products of the companies that he analyzes.

And you know what? He's right. Most people don't like the ending, but they are not spending hours of their lives trying to convince BioWare to change it.
