You guys who are like derppp the fire rate nerf can't be that big of a deal are missing the point......

This gun is dead because of the combo of the fire rate AND the capacity dropped to 18. No longer can it be your only weapon, you now HAVE to carry something else with it. Ironically the class that would use it the most doesn't even have biotics/tech to back it up when they do run out of ammo.

It's just a stupid nerf by people who don't play the game looking at metrics and saying "ohdamn, so many people use this gun, we need to change that".

Irony....

You do realize that since 'the class that would use it most doesn't even have biotics/tech to back it up', it is also the class least reliant on cool downs and thus the one most encouraged to carry more than one weapon? If you run out of ammo on a soldier because you only brought one gun to the fight, that's not Bioware's fault.

This is a friggin' co-op game, why the heck are they nerfing perfectly reasonable guns? OH but a Combat Engineer's turret and Phantom gauntlet gun, TOTALLY balanced. The gun is now entirely useless, it's unuseable in every regard. This is bull, pure bull.

Now -this- is a legitimate problem to complain about that I hope Bioware fixes soon. It's been broken way too long now...

Why wasn't the Carnifex/Paladin slapped with this fire rate?

Well, seems like the percentage of people using biotics must be incredibly low...

Call me crazy, but is the nerf going to affect the gun THAT dramatically? I myself have never used it, but it seems like a lot of people are super upset over it o_o

Well if you've never used it, you have no idea what you missed. Not to be rude.

Oh I don't take that as rude; it's just a statement of a fact. I've watched my brother use it and he would constantly rage about how his shots wouldn't damage the target (even if it was, say, a husk). Really I don't use any ARs except the Avanger, Mattock, and the Revvie anyway. I do sympathize with you Falcon-lovers though. If my Mantis was noticably nerfed I'd be going on a tangeant.

Well aware of the fact, but most people still want to remain as light as possible.

Why would anyone carry such a heavy weapon that only fires 18 shots (and still ghosts shots despite the nerf) and is really primarily effective at killing "weaker" enemies?

Really all this does is makes people less inclined to play an already weak class (soldier) and more inclined to play the class 90% of people play as it is.

If it's to be treated like a grenade launcher, then they need to dramatically increase the damage. The only thing that made it awesome when it fired faster was the splash damage. It still had a lower DPS than any other assault rifle. Now it's quicker to mop up a crowd with a normal AR.

You should try a more tactical use of the weapon then. It can still stagger an entire group with one shot. It can still distribute burning/shock/freeze/warp from ammo to groups of enemies, prepping them for proper combos and bursts.

I carry a falcon and a sidearm on my soldiers and on my krogan sentinel, but even before the adjustments I would only do so when I had ammo I wanted to use to compliment the squad. Soften up a group with proper ammo for enemy type, then switch to a secondary weapon to help the squad clean up.

Seems rather overboard. 125 fire rate to 50?! Unless something is particularly egregious, balance changes are best done in small increments.

Yup, Phantom swarms are absolutely killer on Gold and my Falcon was amazing at dealing with them.  It wasn't an all purpose weapon, using it on an Atlas or similar uber enemy was pretty silly because of your low ammo, but it was a great weapon to clear out swarms of little enemies from overruning my team, thus allowing my team to engage the heavy targets.

No more noob tube, you all will have to learn how to aim now or work as a team to make biotic combos.

I don't have a scorpion myself but one of my freinds on xbox live says his scorpion fires duds alot of the time as well if he's not hosting. He can see the enemy react so he know's he hit them and didn't miss but take no damage. But like I said, I don't have one myself so I can only go by his word.

I've been playing around with it, and it kinda sucks now in that you have to hit a basic grunt with a 25mm grenade + a Concussive Shot to "almost" kill them (level 20 with the latter maxed out on organics). Before, you could hit them twice and fire off the Concussive at another grunt to knock them over, then take both out with a follow up shot each.

I guess it exemplifies more teamwork now.

The Falcon was amazing. I used it on a salarian infiltrator using energy drain w/cloak emptied a clip and then went back into cloak. Its horrible now, can barely get 2 shots in. While yes it needed a nerf, the fire rate reduction was way too extreme. WTB fix to blank fire rather than making the gun useless.

I didn't notice duds, but I did notice a bunch of the shots not sticking to the enemies and actually going through them. Not to mention there is a delay before they detonate.

why not just delete the gun from the game? it's beyond worthless now just delete it. We can add it to the list of things screwed up.

Firstly, the Falcon takes some practice to get used to the trajectory. All my friends unlocked it before me and instantly hated it because it was too hard to get on target. I like many others stuck with it and realised it was a beast of a weapon.

Secondly, my role in the team would usually involved splashing the enemies with cryo damage from my Falcon, helping to control crowds by slowing them down. Sometimes I'd use incendiary ammo to set up fire explosions or even tech blasts.

I'd have accepted a huge spike in recoil as it'd require even more skill to use. Now it's not a case of requiring skill, it's a case of having to sit on an ammo box (presuming it's not one of the glitched boxes that do not work half the time) and wait patiently as your weak shells pound the enemy. It's not viable for gold.

Should just let the only MP classes be AA/DA and Infiltrators if you want to play gold efficiently.
