Now it's not a case of requiring skill, it's a case of having to sit on an ammo box (presuming it's not one of the glitched boxes that do not work half the time) and wait patiently as your weak shells pound the enemy. It's not viable for gold.


It was definitely viable in Gold before.  It was a good crowd control weapon to keep swarms of little junk (Phantom swarms on gold) off your teammates so they could use biotic explosions/sniper rifles on the heavy duty targets(Atlases).

Now it's just a waste of space to carry the Falcon.  Seriously got overnerfed.

Well it seems that way now. I almost exclusively used AA in the demo, but I had a LOT of fun working as a team with the Battlefield 3 soldier thanks to the Falcon over the last few days. That class would suck if it wasn't for the Falcon to back it up and I wouldn't dare face Gold with it. Now it's back to using the biotics constantly, until they nerf those too.

As people have stated, balance issues shouldn't be a big issue vs AI. I don't see any Assault Troopers posting on the forum moaning about noob tubes and OP weapons, so who cares right?

Disclaimer: I understand the game ought to be balanced. Overused weapons ruin the fun and there's no incentive for people to have a variety of weapons and classes if there is inbalance. But this game has the benefit of having a silent enemy. All fixes should be buffs not nerfs. Falcon too good? Buff everything else. Game too easy? Buff the enemies. Guns too weak? Buff them again.

When I used it half of the rounds I shot would go straight through enemies or just not explode, as if they were duds or something. So I guess I never really used it, and definitely didn't think it needed a nerf...

I really hope they revert the nerf or buff it up to the point where it can at least do its JOB AS A GRENADE LAUNCHER. If the gun can't do its job, get rid of it.

Guys....psychology.

If we complain about something, they'll make it better. Instead of taking a bad weapon and making it usable, how about taking a usable weapon and making it good.

Oh and keep complaining about the Revenant. At this rate it'll be godly on the Turian Soldier in no time.

EDIT: I highly doubt they'll reverse this Falcon change though.

One of the worst problems with this nerf is they didn't actually resolve anything.  All they did was take away viable builds.

The Falcon went from being viable to being a liability.  

Oh well, back Asari with Black Widow it is.

Yea, lol.  I had fun on the full dps ar specced soldier w/ falcon on gold.  Now it's back to my infiltrator :( at least I got my bw to 3 while playing on the soldier?

Already before the nerf I could do more damage with an asari adept armed with a pistol than with a turian soldier wielding a freaking grenade launcher...

So yeah, don't like the sound of this.

Turians only had the increased ROF, human was where it was at for damage with it ;p

just tried it, played a few waves, quit the match the gun is now completely pointless, anouther one to add to the USELESS list along with the other half of the weapons, christ the only usefull assualt rifle other than the saber (which is just a sniper rifle in the wrong slot) and bioware nerf it to uselessness, good job bioware you can tell this is your first multiplayer game thats for sure reaction nerfs right and left with no testing, and only minor buffs, all thats happend since launch is there making the multiplayer harder and harder for players

cant see why its not like they can get cash from us failing gold on the last waves since our weapons are ineffective.... OH WAIT

and it STILL manages to lose half the shots into nothing with this godawfull ROF

You know what's sad?

The only assault rifle that's usable on higher difficulties besides the Saber is the Revenant ONLY with the Turian Soldier.

1. Any Falcon user pretty much lived by an Ammo box or knew where the nearest one was. This was the way of the Falcon. This has not changed in the slightest.

2. Unless you were the host you couldn't really let off the Falcon anyways and usually had it fire it about half it's rate (about once every 1-2 seconds). It's fire rate has been doubled meaning little to no change in effect.


I admittedly haven't tried it yet but honestly the big power behind the Falcon wasn't a fast or even medium fire rate, but instead it's ability to chain stagger opponents to death. Even on Gold rating you could take those piles of 3 Phantoms you start seeing in the later waves and chain stagger them all to death without breaking a sweat. The stagger will still blow any unit out of cover revealing them for specials or team kills.

Until they nerf the stagger the Falcon is still one mean mother.

PS: Saber sucks.  It's DPS is atrocious.

give it a try, once your 2 shoots disapear in a row with the new fire rate im sure you will start  to apreciate just how bad this gun has become.... now try hosting.... and by god start  to relise how bad this gun has become.... might have to upgrade myloadout to my geth pulse rifle 1, itl probably have about double the DPS that the falcon has about now

Goes to show I guess that Bioware is one of the 95% of companies who screw up/ignore the important stuff for minor things like 3 stooges complaining about the falcon compared to ten people who complain about actual bugs. I know a little about how the industry can be at times but ****ing hell you should fix bugs before nerfing any weapons that ARE NOT uber powerful.

Took the only good AR, riddled with bugs and nerf it to the ground, baby!

At this rate the nerfs are going to take forever to kill anything in Silver/Gold. It's already taking 5 Carnifex HS to down a silver Pyro.
