The mainstream media and most of the blogosphere think we are people who are taking video games a bit too seriously for our own good. The last thing this "Retake Mass Effect" movement needs now is more negative media coverage of how BioWare fans are going after people who are ridiculing the movement.
Earlier this evening, I came across a topic on this board about Michael Pachter, an equity analyst who said that he thought the "Retake Mass Effect" movement was simply a "vocal minority" and nothing more. People ripped him to shreds, making irrational, unsubstantiated comments about his integrity and his character.
That is not acceptable in any way, shape or form. Mr. Pachter is free to say what he thinks without being subject to undeserved ridicule. The proliferation of such undeserved criticism only serves to harm our movement - and ultimately, deny us the very goal which we seek - an alternative ending to Mass Effect 3.
Please. I implore everyone to be as civil as possible, as the media has gotten wind of this thing. They will not hesitate to publish your vitriol. Think about how such vitriol reflects on you as a person - are you really that mean and nasty in real life, away from the keyboard?
Remain positive, people. We will get what we want, but not by doing stupid and selfish things.
Guys, we need to be tolerant of the opinions of others. Vitriol of any form harms our movement.
