I didn't. At first sight. His tattoo, curlying from his lips, his skin
head, annoying features, ugh. In addition, he caused my two companions'
death by his "friendly"-fired Cone of Cold, although he was supposed to
be my ally. I was glad for the option to paint the walls with him
afterwards!
Zathrian: Who liked him?

I wouldn't know. It was too delicious to pass up the opportunity to side with the werewolves.

At first he reminded me of Lex Luthor in Smallville XD
But I didn't like him, all bent on revenge. When he came around I was more sympathetic.

Seriously can't remember this character, who was he?

i loved the fact that his actions and comments. made me hate him.
shale made the best comment ever.. because he betrayed me.
"hmm i picturing zathrians head being squeeched between my hands.. ow yes... i feel alot better now"
but zathrian was a selfish sodd... and his face indeed looks alot like the smallville dude
dalish had to die for his actions, he really made my blood boil.

I can't hate anyone voiced by Tuvok.
Still need to do my (Persuade) We Can Kill All the Elves playthrough, probably after I buy about a thousand Elfroot.

honestly, he was a stereotypical revenge-bent self-righteous douche from the start. I thoroughly enjoyed killing him. *boo hoo they killed my kids....waaaaaaa....i'm an elf.....everyone hates me....*

I wanted to kill him in the chamber then go back to the Spirit in order to completely confuse the situation, sadly that was not an option. Not that I needed the Werewolves or Elves anyway in the final battle, it would have been cool to complicate a situation so no one wins!

I didn't like him, but I was a goodie and got him to do smoochies with the Lady of the Forest to break the curse.

I was goodie too but after we killed all the werewolves (during which fight he kept freezing me) I utilized the option that another elf (cannot remember her name) knew the ritual involving Witherfang's heart and thus I was able to despose of Zathrian. It was sweet.

I liked him initially as I didn't know his schemes and such. But when I learned the history more during that quest I began to dislike his stance on the whole thing, and ended up with him willing to die, although rather than suicide I still had to attack him... So in the end, I guess I didn't like him.

If Bioware wanted you to hate him, they succeeded. I had far more sympathy for the werewolves. I'll quite possibly destroy the Elves in my next playthrough.

I liked him, he had a cool voice. When you've lived as long as he has I think it's hard to just give up. He needed a good beating to come to his mind. Although, I've sided with him - twice.

I convinced him to sacrifice himself, I hated him, but at least he served a purpose in the end.

I really liked the quest, but Zathrian was an utter bastard. Got him to sacrifice himself at least. Next time I'm siding with the wolfies.
(I'd like to think I sorta did this time too though)

I really liked Zathrian, as a character. He was a bit "flat" in some aspects of his character, a bit too unapologeticly adamant in his decision, without a logical defense. He didn't really defend his position adequately.
But yeah. Overall, I liked him.

I liked the subtlety of the sidequest where you find out that the one guy's wife is a werewolf. It looks just like any other sidequest in a CRPG, where you're doing it for XP and maybe a quest item, but it actually serves a purpose in the main plot. Notably, its foreshadowing that Zathrian will lie to his own people (and you) in order to manipulate them for the "greater good". (Which isn't how its supposed to roll in keeper-town, at least not if the keeper of your home clan in Dalish Elf origin is any indicator.)
I loved that when playing Dalish Elf, right after the Lady told me about Zathrian's lying about the cause of his longevity ('rediscovered the ancient longevity of our people 'cause he's oh so holy', my ass), I had a dialogue option to round off on Zathrian with "I can't believe you betrayed our people solely for revenge!"

I rather dislike Zathrian, his justifications are obsolete and his manner is arrogant, siding with him is an empty experience.
Then again Swiftrunner makes a very good case for werewolf genocide, I utterly cannot stand that abrasive and unpleasant barbarian.
Actually nobody in the Dalish storyline is at all likeable, aside from the above, the Lady of the Forest is bland and unsympathetic, who's only real role in all of this is "hur hur hot tree lady", Lanaya is redundant and boring, Cammen/Gheyna are a pair of wet noodles I wish I could stab with my 1-hit KO dagger, etc.
Don't even get me started on the "poet-tree".
Honestly if it were up to me I'd set the whole forest on fire and be done with it.
