Hi All,

Further to  providing the information in Syclla's post:

Can you explain what makes you think we did release a patch? Did Origin or ME3 update? (it might help us track down the problem).

Did you do anything specific before the problem began to occur?

Finally, do you have any anti-virus and/or firewall software installed, if so, which?

Thanks!

Yesterday was fine.

Today (an hr ago) I started the game immediately after starting up my PC.
Went to MP and opened the 2 rewards from Operation Goliath.
Then joined a MP game. Once entered the match, I immediately felt the very significant drop in frame rate.

I am using Kaspersky 2012 but there was no notification from it saying there was a problem when gaming.

I only thought there was a patch because a previous poster claimed there
was.

It seems a common theme is that the issues occurred after we all open our
rewards from Operation Goliath (though how in the heck that would happen, I have
no idea). That was the case with me.

My AV is Avast! Free. The framerate issue however affects me in both MP and SP.

For reference, ME2 runs perfectly still.

Update. So I updated my gfx card (if u have an nVidia you probably have one too) then restarted Origins and ME. FPS back up to where it should be. No more slideshow lag.

There is hope! I will try that when I get home in a couple of hours.

Even though my Origin account was set to update automatically, I looked for an update manually and found a 25MB download. I guess this is what people are referring to.

Edit: I also opened both my Goliath rewards. No problems whatsoever.

If your fps drops suddenly, try exiting ME3, quitting/killing Origin, and restarting.

Sometimes Origin bugs on my machine and takes a whole processor core, substantially slowing every other program/game.

Yes there was a 25.3mb patch to ME3.

It also caused my game to lag/stutter and generaly jump around like a flea on speed.

I disabled my ingame Origin overlay and it stopped all the jittering and what not.

This is the second time i have had to disable Origin in game because it causes issues.

Only reaon i enabled it was so i can invite/recieve invites for MP games.

Guess i wont be doing that till it's fixed.  "AGAIN"

I am sure it was running at above 60 fps before as I am using a 120Mhz monitor.

Ain't that a bit too much lad? 120 Hz is more likely!
ME3 seems to be locked to 60-62 fps unless you edit config files manually, and disable vsync and smoothframerate.

That should be 120Hz. Sorry for the typo.
I didnt check the exact framerate before since it was running very smooth.
My current framerate is less than 20 inside the Normandy...

Tried restarting Origin and disabled Origin in game but didnt solve the issue.
Thanks

I'm also having FPS problems. I have the latest version from origin (manually checked for updates, downloaded ~25MB patch). Right at the start of the game, watching reapers destroy the city, 22fps. Start menu 20fps.

I have w7 64bit, intel i7-2600k, 16GB ram, gtx 560 Ti 2GB vram with 296.10 driver. I haven't played before, but I asume I shouldn't be getting these kinds of frame rates with my setup, yes?

EDIT: Ah solved the problem right after the post. I had some AA override settings in NVidia control panel. I reset them to default settings, with just forced Vertical sync and now the FPS is solid 60 everywhere.

TIP: Reset Nvidia Control Panel settings to defaults!

my fps is aout 30-40 too, but now AA works perfectly and sees that AO works too, the game looks better visually, but i use nvinspector, i have not tested normal nv control panel.

The only time I have ever noticed Ambient Occlusion in the entire game is during the (----------------------------------------------------------------SPOILER WARNING--------------------------------------------------------------) sex scene towards the end of the game. Latest NVIDIA driver installed.

I just clicked "Check for Update" for ME3 in Origin and it says my game is up to date.

Also, I just installed nInspector and I don't see a section that lets you enable Ambient Occlusion in the game.

Also, I went into Coalesced.bin with an Coalesced editing program and found the section under BioEngine.ini and noticed AmbientOcclusion is already set to True. Yet, I don't see any Ambient Occlusion in the game.

So... How'd you get AO to work in ME3?

Solved my issue by re-installing the Nvidia 296.10 driver.

I was using the same driver last night and I did not mess with any setting except for setting perference to Quality and activating SLI in the Nvidia control panel.

I performed a clean uninstall (also with driver sweeper) and re-install the same driver 296.10. Now everything is working fine. Framrate at around 62.1fps in SP.

Maybe resetting the Nividia control panel an easier fix. But i havent tried.

Thanks everyone for the input.^_^

I can confirm that after updating my drivers (again) fixed the issue. I am back to 60fps in game (including the menu).

Hopefully this works for everyone else.

(I feel like such a computer noob for not doing this in the first place @_@)

Here is a possible fix for anyone with Nvidia (got it from Bercon's post):
-Open Nvidia control panel
-Go to Manage 3D Settings
-Go to Mass Effect 3 from the list of programs
-Go to Anti-aliasing mode
-Change it to Application controlled (the problem was it was overriding)

Worked for me...hope it works for everyone else.

I was happily playing ME 3 with 16s AA and Transparency MS at max settings until yesterday at a happy v-sync 60 fps all day long. Now I get 11fps at the title screen and 11-15fps in the game. Still using the same drivers and inspector settings I have always used. I am running i7 3.8GHz SLI GTX 470(296.10) and 2TB RAID.

Even if I disable AA via game and inspector I still cannot hit 60fps with shadows disabled(does up the fr by ~30%). I re-installed the game, drivers and deleted config files, new save game and nothing. All other games run fine so I guess I am not going to find out how the game ends as I am a graphics WH*** and can not stand those jagged edges. I didn't pay 3k to play games on med settings. Please fix this EA or give me an option to uninstal the new patch.

Hello
Can you please post the driver version you are running?

As stated earlier there was no patch yesterday

Sorry, just realized I left it out and edited just now. I am running 296.10. No settings have changed but my GPU memory usage doubled and my SLI scaling is only 50%
