it COULD be, yes.
But, how many other things around this time had a BLUEISH glow?  I can only think of one.
Let's see where this goes.  ^^

Off the top of my head...either the Synthesis beam or the beam to the Citadel. Are you referring to something else?

are you guys just referring to the setting in general, or something specific in the rubble?

Oh, that beam? Why didn't you told that earlier........ saw that, but was pissed off too much at that time. Still hate the ending.

That they won't post an unaltered screencap should tell us something...

Ok no kidding, my ending didn't have that blueish light in the background.  Odd.

The guy that made the video caused that effect himself. He just wanted to make it easier to see by making the light brighter. Imo, there's only a light there so you can see Shep's body, otherwise, it would be too dark to spot him.

Okay, now THAT time I saw it.
Hmm...VERRRRRY INTERESTING.  Not sure how I didn't catch that sooner.

I think that particular video has been edited to make the smoke look more "blue".  The other videos I've seen it just looks like dust settling from an explosion.

That could well be the case

I just looked at it again and I'm NOT seeing the blue glow. Am I looking at the wrong video?

((wants to see what everyone else sees too))

I don't see the beam either, but it's unmistakably the London rubble.

How can you tell this rubble fromt that rubble?

The objects that are panned over as the camera moves to the body are the same as what is seen before sheppard is knocked out. There were comparison pictures somewhere but I can't seem to find the thread.

It means the game is still on, and they have yet to announce that they're actually working on the rest of what happens to you, pending on what choice you made during that freakish God child thing event (that, in my/your dreams, just got done WARNING ME/YOU ABOUT.) you emrace him.. you're dead, if you choose destroy, you wake back up in London. BioWare is making something for this, because it's still game on.

To me, that just doesn't work because it pretty much says "There is a wrong choice". And really, you could extend that to "There are two wrong choices, and only Destroy is the right choice."

That railroads people into picking destroy for the "right" ending. What about the people who generally believe in Control and Synthesis? I even considered Synthesis before I reached the end.

Indoctrination theory literally ruins the other two endings, as well as the people who actually support them.

To me, the solution is to expand the current endings and fill them in with details and more choices/endings. The IT came out of people trying to make sense of the ending, but if the endings make sense, there's no need for the IT.

And, of course, my argument against why IT is a poor idea: It basically means I paid $80 for a game and now have to wait for an actual ending. That, to me, is not brilliant in winning over customer satisfaction.

Huh. I noticed the whispers more than anything. Aren't whispers a pretty big thing for indoctrination etc?

Hm. I don't remember the blue light being that bright before. Might have to replay that ending on my game.

It wasn't that bright. I've played through 3 times, chose Destroy/Shep Lives each time, and it never looked like that.

That video's doctored.

yeah, just thought about that.
Forgot that that video was also a fan doctored one to help support Indoctrination Theory.
Hmm..so much for that bit of hope that just got raised.
Crushed again.

Not fun getting hopes up to only lose them seconds later.  I think from now on I'm just gonna stay with my hopes crushed and leave it at that.

I think it's that brief blue light you see to the right ish of the scene from 7-8 seconds to 10 seconds in the video.

Not 100% sure.

That's almost certainly YouTube compression messing with things.  I compared it with the actual video file in the folder and there's only smoke there.

Probably. I just thought that might have been what the OP was talking about. I personally don't remember there being an indicator that the beam was still there when I got that ending, but that may be because I was too speechless about the ending to notice.

---

I do believe that the others are right about that other video being edited to make the blue light more prominent.

It could very well be CGI rendered moonlight shining down on the rubble. Or something else entirely.

But I won't completely rule out the blue beam.

It could be it only shows if you get TIM to kill himself or some other condition. Its matches up to well to be faked and if you look VERY closely at the vids without the glow you can still see a the edge of the beam

At this point, they are whatever you want them to be. They could support indoctrination, just be a cool sound effect, or the remnants of an idea that ended up getting scrapped. They could also be explained by something I haven't mentioned.

At this stage, it's up to you to speculate.

At the same time there was only one real way to end ME2 and have it continue the story, Shepard living through the suicide mission.

I like IT since it's cool and I'd like to have seen it implemented since it would inevitably lead to more endings, but I'm equally fine with just getting not horrible endings.

that youtube video is someones explanation of the indoctrination theory.  IT is well done but they took many liberties with the content of the ending and added dialogue from previous games, and effects such as whispering and they did indeed edit in that blue smoke.  It is not in game accurate.

I agree, it's just something I noticed now. I was too busy seethign in rage with my headphones off when I first got that ending and never really paid attention to it after that point.
