I'm happy with ME3 but I am curious. EA generally plays it pretty safe and inside the box so can we expect this to become just a hiccup in regards to BioWare game endings? Will they just stick to vanilla but safe wrapups?
And what about this grand project of decisions playing out over multiple titles? I was overwhelmingly satisfied by it and feel it raised the bar for storytelling games. But there's a lot of negative feedback with folks feeling let down by it, feeling it didn't play out as strongly as they'd hoped. If I'm EA, it would be very tempting to put the clamps on any ideas for future multi-title decision impacts like this. Seems like a lot of extra work for something that ultimately is a letdown for its consumers. Just stick to maybe the Dragon Age style, where you get little tiny flourishes based on your previous game but nothing that's really plot driving.
I hope this doesn't happen, but I can see EA wanting to play it safer with BioWare after this.
Potential ramifications of this fallout?
