Just out of curiousity.

The market square and the ogres I used noone, I honestly didnt look or realise until I had flattened everything.

Storm of the century at the alienage wiped most of the darkspawn there and the dwarves just looked bemused that there was nothing to do.  50/50 dwarves still alive :).

The next point got a bit hairy until I realised that maybe I was meant to call in support.  Which I did quite late, and the knights of redcliffe lost 2 men. 48/50 left

At Fort Drakon it was er quite tough, the archers, the dragon thralls, and worst of all those two emissaries.  Whichever way I turned I had to try and take something out first.  So I called on some range here and brought in the elves.  Now I cant quite recall but I think I only lost 2 elves here as well.  Seemed a good use for them. 48/50 elves left

Finally then the Archdemon.
I held off calling in the army here until I forced the Archdemon to fly off and settle in a difficult to reach spot.  Then I called in my 12 mages.

What with arl Eamon running round trying to join in as well, honestly I kept on having to heal him lots so he didnt fall over. The mages had a clear run to sit back, and whilst we tidied up the darkspawn that tried to assist, they just nuked that archdemon good and proper.  I saw Arl Eamon on the ground by the archdemon, but aside from that I lost no mages.

I lost no Dwarves, Templars. I lost two Redcliffians. The Elves got slaughtered in the battle during the final battle. Only 13 or so left at the end, haha.

For the Market and Fort Drakon I used the human Soldiers. I had about 7 left after that.

The Elves were used to storm the palace. o left. :(

I used the Dwarves (with legion of the dead) against the Archdemon. 12 left. :(

I lost all but 4 werewolves (they fought valiantly against the genrals), 1 mage (prolly killed himself with fireballs) and then a crapload of dwarves against the archdemon.

I never called for any of my army until the Archdemon, when I called in the Knights as I'd invested 90g+ in them and figured they were my best bet. I lost all but 3 against the Archdemon (normal difficulty as a Mage).

interesting. I had been dropping as much into the coffers as possible. Good to help your allies. The elves had just about every herb I could gather. Lots went to mages, a few gems went to dwarves. Lots of runes to the amges.

I had been relatively generous to everyone, wondering if your armies where ending up wiped out. What difficulty was this and how generous had you been?

armies arent really neccesary, used dwarves only in alianage to keep the line ( had no mage in my party that game). and summoned elves for extra dps on bossfight.

didnt lose much of them maybe 2 elves and a few dwarves. i itend to use my rmies next time to clear everything and self just sit back and watch :) .

I only used them at the end in Fort Drakon. That fight way easier than expected and I massively overloaded on potions. Blew all my remaining money on it expecting an epic battle that stretched all my resources.

I needed some ranged troops in that fight against the dragon thralls and emissaries. The latter really go to me. So I called the mages. Resulted in a lot of friendly fire, but I got through it. About half of them died. :(

Then I called the dwarves (with the Legion of Dead) against the archdemon. The problem with that was that I then needed the elves when the demon retreated to that unreachable positions. But there were plenty of dwarves left. Not sure how many died, but the losses weren't massive,

I personally had the most awesome army a game can have. Was very surprised at the strength of the werewolves in the final battle. 2 were just lost. Then I reloaded for a reason I don't remember and didn't use any at all. They are experience taker. For example, I'd rather slay everything alone than share the glory!

Edit : oh and it was on normal. Now I am doing a no injury run and am not planning to use any of those. The only really tough battle for me is at the fort's gates, when the dragons enter the battle. But this last run, my dwarven warrior has extrememly high armor and defense. Was laughing yesterday when Howe did only 8 damage per hit. Mages on the other side, are still a problem.

Well My first time through I didn't lose any.......because I never noticed that I couldl call up reinforcments!! You wanna talk about increased difficulty......especially that last fight right before entering the tower....omw I must have reloaded 30 times before I finally got it.

On playthroughs now I lose at least half my guys most times cause I just send em in to go out in a blaze of glory.......after that first play through where it was 4 vs and Army, I kinda figured I'd earned it.

My first play-through, difficulty hard, I lost 3 dwarves, a few mages (essentially because they kept trowing fireballs on themselves) and..... the 50 Redcliff soldiers who died against the Archdemon.

Certainly it appears the different sections suit the different forces.

It looks like Redcliffe soldiers and Archdemons is one bad combination.
