When you are shooting a lightweight 12 gauge shotgun w/o recoil pad with hot 1 1/4 ounce slugs from the bench don't put the stock on your collar bone instead in your shoulder pocket. Really, don't.

It feels like your collarbone gets hit by a hammer and you'll get a palm sized bruise.

Familiarity breeds contempt - the longer you stay around someone, the more things you'll find to hate about them.

Er, yeah.  Never rest a gun on a bony bit or it'll hurt, sometimes a lot.  It seems counterintuitive for some reason; fortunately I was taught to rest it on that padded bit before I started firing .308s...

Dont spit into the wind.

Or in my case dont spit into the general direction that the wind is gusting from at intermittent times.

Don't share a house with five friends, because you'll grow to hate all of them.

Kentucky moonshine is bad news.

And never let your perpetually-drunk/stoned sister borrow your bicycle.

Never ride a bike really fast down an extremely narrow mountain passage with blind corners, you'll crash into a car.

Don't punch solid objects when you're angry, you'll surely f*ck up your knuckles AND the stuff you're punching.

Don't play dodge ball with a 15lbs medicine ball.

Don't be a street hokey goalkeeper if you like your face

Never ride a bike with a loose handlebar

Jumping out of a moving vehicle going 2-3 miles an hour for the lulz is NOT a good idea.

Never agree to date someone you only have friendly feelings for. Friendzoning may seem like a cruel thing to do, but you will both be better for it in the long run.

Women cant use the word "now" in polite conversation.

Men dont undstand that "now" is allways implied when a woman asks you something.

In my experience, it's best to just cut loose from someone who's "friendzoned" you - continuing to associate with someone who doesn't reciprocate interest can only lead to intense and prolonged frustration.

Love and hatred have far more in common and are far closer to one another than most acknowledge.

The "friendzone" isn't cruel. (Not a big fan of the term, myself.) If you just want to be friends, then that's exactly what you should say. It's not knowing for sure that hurts most in the long run, because if you don't know for sure, then you can hold out a false hope that things will change in the future and your feelings will be reciprocated.

It is, all in all, much better to be able to allow such hopes to die, so that they can be mourned and buried. Until that happens, one is only salting the wound.

Opposites can attract, and the attraction is not always on equal footing.

Everyone leaves. Either by dying or by leaving you. In which case, a person's death is easy to accept, the person leaving, no so much. (There is a joke here but I will leave that to someone else to make.)

Trust takes months to years to build, but only seconds to tear apart.

People you love will hurt you. Don't hurt them back.

People will leave you, let them go.

Forgiveness does not mean forgetting or allowing that person back into your life.

If you love someone, be it intimate partner, family or friends, you will inevitably do something stupid and assinine. Just go with it.

Always learn what your best friends favorite snack, candy, or food is and keep it on hand. You can use it to distract them during an arguement or bride them if they are wavering.

The deeper the love, the deeper the pain. But its worth it.
