I just thought of something. What if we made giant steel blocks. Put an FTL engine on them and added a mass effect core. Make the things light to begin with (for speed) and before impact change their mass to as heavy as they can get.

Heavy steel beams traveling at 12X the speed of light and using the mass effect to increase their weight. Sounds like a great way to pierce the reapers armor and smash their AI core . The best part is we don't have to use the catalyst and can avoid those bad endings.
