The happy/sad ending situation doesn't bother me. I can appreciate a dark ending just as much as a happy one. I find both to be used all the time and neither is more cliche than the next. Heck, the choices thing is a disappointment, but that still isn't what bothers me. I was just left completely confused after the game. After a game you spend so much time on, you would like to know why things happened the way they did. That's my reason.
Otherwise, I actually liked parts of the ending. It was very emotional. Anderson's death was the part of the game that pulled on my heartstrings more than anything. It was different and unique - which can be good, if you do it correctly. If you don't, it ends up... confusing, and strange. I understand that'snot how everyone sees it though.
