Ok, so instead of the usual fanboy gushing everyone tends to do over their favorite character, I thought it might be interesting to discuss our least favorite characters. Whether you think they were underdeveloped, never resonated with you, or you flat out hated them.

I know for me, Jacob and Miranda just never struck a chord with me. I don't hate those characters, but I felt almost no attachment to them. When I found out they were not recruitable squadmates for ME3 I was relieved. I didn't want them taking up valuable roster spots.

Please don't flame me Miranda/Yvonne Strahovsky fans. You can love her and that's fine. I get that she was responsible for the Lazarus project and bringing you back. I get that she is supposed to be the "perfect" woman. I just felt her character was very shallow. There was some depth involving the storyline with her father/sister, but it never stuck out to me. I didn't feel the character grow nearly as much as the rest of the cast. You can't honestly tell me that Miranda grew as much as someone like Wrex or Liara.

Anyway, I'm more interested in what anyone else thinks.

EDIT: Just to clarify a bit, I'm more interested in which previous/current squad mates you cared for the least. If you want to add secondary characters such as Kai Leng go right ahead.

Jacob.........I HATE him after ME3. Okay not hate...but he strongly annoyed me. He was alright in ME2 but in ME3 when I mention settling down some day, He says "No. You can't. The Normandy's your love" I was like "Where f*ck do you get off?! I will settle down with Liara when this over damn it! I should just leave your ass to die for that comment.

The Salarian Dalatras.....what a ****....

Balak....In the words of Zaeed..."Goddamn terrorist!"

Han Gerrel pisses me off with his KILL ALL GETH attitude but I liked him in ME2.....so he's alright but I totally punched him out for opening fire on the geth ship when I was on it.

I HATE THE CATALYST!!! DIE STARCHILD!!! DIE!!!!

Everyone else I love.

I must have seen cities-worth of this type of thread by now...

Anyway... my least favorite would have to be... Tali.

In terms of raw gameplay, she doesn't complement my skillset in any way (I'm a damage focused Sentinel).

In terms of story, she comes off as a quarian's wikipedia, and little else. What little backstory she has is handed to Shepard by other people. This is just a gripe of mine, but why did she even need to be a squadmate in ME1 and beyond? After she gave you dirt on Saren... What was the point? Did I miss something? She could have just continued on her pilgrimage and became generic quarian #4434456.

I had zero interest in Jacob in any way shape or form. I also found Thane pretty meh. Just my opinion.

I never much liked Zaeed, his morals and views conflict too much with mine for me to really care about him. Jacob, I didn't get to know very well, but what I did know sort of annoyed me. Everyone else, I tolerated or liked.
That being said, they're all well written characters (Jacob questionably so...).

I can easily understand if someone doesn't like Miranda, even she is one of my favorite ME characters. She is cold, distant, judging and cocky.

For me ME3 changed my opinion on my old disliked characters (Tali and Garrus).

Also proved I was right about not liking that war monger Quarian Admiral or Jacob... you cheating bosh'tet. Vega and Salarian Daltarass added to my most disliked characters.

Interesting thing, I like idea of Kai Leng but hate his cheesy space ninja assasin design. If he was more like Thane, a science fiction assasin he would be more likeable.

I felt really bad for Kai Leng in ME3... He never did get a good, tasty bowl of Blast-Os (as part of a complete nutritional breakfast!)

Sad. Calibration jokes out the ass, but no cereal references.

I have to admit that Tali didn't do much for me in ME1. However, she really grows as a character in ME2/3 IMO.

As far as being the Quarian wiki, you could say that of just about any alien squad member. The way we learned about each race was through our corresponding squad member for the most part.

I hated Wreav, he was just a rude waste of space. I don't really like Liara because of her VA, she sounds more like a robot than EDI, her story and her powers were great, but I can't get over her VA. Samara's also a character I don't like cause her vision is too black and white. Joker's annoying as sh*t. I used to hate Zaeed but now he's just whatever.
I find it funny that I hate some of the most loved characters, and my favorite characters ger so much hate.

Think only the Starchild makes it on my dislike-list.

It feels odd, extra and not even being part of the game at all ...

Probably a tie between Jack and Jacob. I found Jacob so dull and "jobsworth" kept coming into my head when he talked about how great Cerberus was in ME2. I probably would've liked Jack more considering she's got a sensitive side but her whole vulgar attitude really put me off. Plus, I was too busy hanging out with Garrus doing some, um, 'calibrating', instead of listening to her sad life stories.

I guess by my history it would be kaiden. Every ME1 playthrough I just never seem to let the poor guy live. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I thought Ashley was amazing, I just always chose the girl in the end. Miranda I thought was great in ME2, much nicer than Ashley and so despite liking Tali's character it was always Miranda I chose as she became so vulnerable as you got to know her and you realized that tough exterior was mostly a show. I even ignored all relationships in ME1 when I recently started again (previous save game was on different computer) knowing I would end up picking Miranda anyway...

Funny thing is, when I saw how great Ashley was looking in ME3, I kind of regreted that decision and only stuck with Miranda because I didn't have the heart to tell her to do one... So my Shepard ended up in a loveless relationship, secretly desiring the squadmate he passed on all that time ago. So fom my characters perspective, I think Miranda was least favourite as she felt like an anchor :) lol.

Kaiden (haven't seen him since 2007 though :P), Jacob (bland beyond belief) and Zaeed (annoying attitude).
Also while Garrus isn't among my least favourite characters, I don't quite understand his popularity. He's just sort of there with some occasionally mildly interesting things to say.

As far as the female characters go Ashley in ME1 (much better in ME3) and Miranda are probably the two I find least interesting. Jack wasn't exactly a favourite of mine either in ME2, but I liked her in ME3.

Don't really have any least favourite to be honest. I like all of them and the impact they have on the story.

I didn't get all the Jacob hate before. Yeah he was just a consummate professional who never let his guard down for anyone... he was bland, yadda yadda. That was fine.

And I was even "nice job, Jacob" when he told me about Dr. Cole in my first ME3 playthrough. Then I learned he does the same thing even if you romanced him.

Yup, I dislike Jacob now, as written. As FemShep says, he's a bastard.

Also, Kaidan. Never liked him, at all.

Least favorite character though? Kai Leng. Worst character ever. Nothing's worse than a plot-armored cyber super-ninja. What am I, watching some low-rent anime? He gets knocked on his ass by Thane. Right then and there he would have been dead because I would have shot him several times. In the face.
