Well he did say that if there is DLC to fix the ending he's 100% on board to voice it. That's a lot more commitment than "I'm listening to your concerns".

"Onboard to voice it" is not, in any way in h*ll, "I think the endings are awful," as people here are assuming.

I personally don't care what he thinks of the ending. All that matters is that he's always on board to voice an ending fix IF it ever comes around.

So he'll be voicing for DLC content?

Alright, so at least we know that Shepard will be in a DLC, might be the Omega DLC I guess, if not... let's say it in unison... *drum rolls* ... speculation time!

If its not the ending, nobody cares I don't.

Yes, but not as Shepard: he's apparently going to be voicing Marauder Shields.  True story.

I really don't want to get my hopes up but if Meer isn't against changing the ending that is awsome.

He's Commander Shepard, and he made a more substantial comment than anybody else on the Citadel.

Mark Meer: Noncommittal comment.

Everyone: HE'S HOLDIN' THE LINE!!!

Yeah really. Come on he can't say anything, he'd be nailed to the wall for saying something like "God these endings blew ass, I think I got throat cancer voice acting them." He is a cool dude, but he needs to be polite and nonspecific when dealing with press.

The title seems a little misleading. Who is this Mark Meer person when everyone knows that Commander Shephard is Jennifer Hale?

He is Niftu Cal! Who needs Commander Shepard when you can have The Biotic God instead?:D

I like him. He has a reasonable, normal person, non-polarised approach to this.

It says that the central voice actors are contracted to be available for further content. It's actually kinda vital! The worst case scenario would have been that future DLC had been mapped out in advance and the voice recordings done already, which could have made it a logistical nightmare to get anything new produced.

He still can't play the character of Shepard worth half a damn, but he seems like a pretty cool guy. It's good news to hear.

"Broshep is brooooo."

That said, it was nice getting his perspective on the matter. Obviously nothing new re:the controversy - we already knew they were planning DLC that included Shepard - but it's nice to hear something that isn't radical. Holding the line can be tiring, you know.

Agreed.
I don't much care if he likes the endings, or doesn't like them. He understands that we don't like them, and he is more than ready to do us a favour and record more dialogue if Bioware decide to help us. Now I'm just hoping Bioware decide to help us.

Sadly, the DLC they are calling him in for is likely not ending DLC - they haven't even got an official stance on that yet. My bet is Omega DLC, and then an announcement for ending DLC if we have won, an announcement of no ending DLC if we have lost. If the latter, also a drop in the number of purchases of the next Bioware game.
