Though I haven't decided whether to rock the boat a little and use different squaddies this time. Might take Liara for biotic combos (I've taken Javik's Dark Channel this time as bonus) and Garrus for his AP ammo (and cos he is my FemShep LI...and funny to boot). Is Kaidan any better? I killed him in most playthroughs (he was soooo dull...) but I want his reave power.

How to best describe Kadien's combat abilities.
He couldn't defeat wet tissue paper.

Maybe I gave him an incorrect weapon. I tried assault rifles, I tried SMG and Heavy pistol. I tried Sniperrifle... Nothing seemed to make him effective.

This was on veteran. He seemed to die, a lot. He had some pretty good diagolue if you're into introspective things.

Was it worth saving him on vermire? Hell no. Javik all the way.

Okay my rundown of squadmates.

Kaidan Alenko: I'm annoyed that I made all the wrong dialogue choices leading him to take Admiral Hacket's post. He is an interesting character. I liked his backstory regarding Jump Zero and his distrust of Comander Shepard due to involvement with Cerberus.

That said. That mission on Mars displayed his awesome abilities. Reave, Overload, Cryo and Barrier (okay barrier is a boring ability) make a good solid jack of all trades. He also sports a jack of all trades load out. An assault rifle and a pistol. Not my favourite but pretty good.
7/10.

Ashley Williams: I love her character. Badass female soldier with some Mexican roots. Great story about being blacklisted and her constant fight to prove herself making her a spectre. Kaidan becomes a Spectre too, but Ashley is one at the beginning of ME 3.

Disruptor ammo, a grenade, concussive shot and marksman. A solid heavy hitting soldier who can take down those shields. Not the most interesting addition in terms of abilities but trumps James Vega in terms of abilities.
7/10

James Vega: I love Carnage, and that about rounds up my reasons to bring him along. Fortification, incendiary blast and grenade make him an okay addition. I would only be excited by a boring soldier if he were a Krogan. But Carnage is amazing and he wields a shotgun!
6/10

Liara T'Soni: I love her personality. She shares a strong bond with Shepard regardless of whether you romanced her or not. She is the Shadow Broker, and I just like the fact that she is the kind of person who expresses her feelings a lot, and encourages Shepard to do so.

Her combat abilities are fantastic. Stasis, warp, singularity and warp ammo. I love all of them.
Pistols and SMG's are okay but later on you get some amazing ones, scorpion and locust.
9/10

Garrus Vakarian: You've been there from the start. Well you weren't on the Eden Prime mission so not quite the start. Garrus is the callibrating badass, kick ass soldier who combines tech and combat abilities to dish out pain. I never found his stories or his issues to be boring. He is an interesting and complex character. Perfect for the ultimate bromance, even if Shepard is female. Apparantly he makes a nice romantic interest too.

Concussive shot, armour piercing ammo and overload are fantastic. Tech mine is meh. Still fantastic though.
9/10

EDI: Okay there has been some blantantly obvious appeal to the fans with this Joker EDI romance. But it was handled in an interesting and amusing character. EDI is finally free. She has lots of questions about humanity and she is even giving relationships a try. This puts her ahead of most attempts to please fans.

In addition she has three epic abilities: Incinerate, overload and decoy (another distraction ability like the combat drone, defence drone and turret). Her defenive matrix is boring to be honest.
8/10

Tali Zorah Vas Neema/Nar Rayya/Normandy SR1/Normandy SR2: Fantastic tragic character conflicted over the geth and her own people, but determined to stand by Shepard's side. People hate Tali and it makes me sad. I was sad about how I resolved the Quarian Geth situation. Tali and Legion died :(. Makes me very sad.

Anyway. Her combat abilities are also fantastic. Energy Drain (which is an epic bonus power for adepts in both ME 2 and 3), Defence Drone, Combat Drone (because two drones are better than one) and SABOTAGE. Whenever I'm fighting synthetics, I want Tali kicking some ass.
9/10

Comander Javik: A living prothean with a different perspective on the war and some interesting philosophical musings. Also creates some interesting interactions.

Powers include, dark channel, slam and pull are awesome. Has lift grenade. My favourite grenade power but still, it's a grenade.
8/10.

I would have loved to have Kasumi Goto and maybe Samara. I liked Thane too. But I'm happy with the squad line up.

If you do adept just bring Javik and Liara. Enjoy your streamrolling of insanity.

You're missing two elements.

Equip Shepard with Raptor sniper/assault hybrid and Energy Drain.

Now with Javik and Liara you're streamrolling insanity.

My favourite combinations for the Adept are:

Liara and Javik
Liara and Garrus
Garrus and Tali
Garrus and EDI
Kaidan and Liara

Sorry James you didn't make the list.
Also Ashley I haven't really used you yet...
