Well AFAIK it gives You war assets in multiplayer and resets You char to lvl1, but does it give You credits in multiplayer? if not then why to promote? You lose exp and u can get 5k military strenght in single player without any problems.

You dont get credits ore unlockpacks. You will get a 10 N7 points and thats it. I am just doing it to get more N7 points.
