Considering it's almost unanimous 'must-play' status in gaming publications, it's a shoe-in

Paid the collector's edition $70 in my country, I did my job. I bought the game. Now the ball is in EA/Bioware's camp. Give us the end we paid for!

I'm trying to think what other games I'm looking forward to this year. I haven't played Kingdoms of Amalur yet but I plan to soon. Max Payne 3. Far Cry 3. Tomb Raider. Assassins Creed 3. Hitman. Bioshock Infinate.
Most of those contenders will be less than 20 hours long, I doubt any of them will be as emotional as ME3, and all of them will have their own flaws. There has never been, and never will be, a perfect game. The ME3 ending might make replaying the game difficult for some people, but most of the contenders will be designed to be exactly the same on a 2nd play.
So yeah, ME3 has pretty much already won my GOTY award unless something very surprising happens.
I could cheat and vote for Witcher 2, but to be fair, the PC version was #2 on my 2011 GOTY list.

Do you think the ending, left as is, will deprive ME3 of a realistic chance at Game of the Year? Don’t want to start a flame war between the 2 “factions”, but I feel the current ending undermines a lot of the players actions and choices throughout the series. Although it’s poignant and emotional, it lacks the variety that defines the rest of the series. The result is that I cant imagine myself voting for it as my Game of the Year. I wonder what BSN thinks of this?

i hope not, they should not be rewarded for their betrayal to the franchise

Why wouldn't it get GOTY? it got even better reviews than ME2 did, the game is awesome in every way, the multiplayer was very well made, and it's fun too so, why wouldn't it be a great candidate for GOTY? becuase of the ending? LMAO! you people are so ridden in this game's fictional universe that you'll be even selling your game because of a few holes in a 5 minute cutscene, lol.toolfan9284 wrote...
Depends, as it stands now...unlikely. If they do something regarding the ending that too would make it unlikely given that most media publications are not in favor of the ending being changed. Too much controversy surrounding the game atm, ask this question in 6 months.

The ending is kinda paramount here. It was supposed to be the crowning moment of a powerful trilogy, wrapping up 5 years and 120+ hours of story, and ended up crashing and burning entirely.Commander Shep4rd wrote...

Yeah, that's kinda important. Especially when it affects replayability of not only the game but the other two titles for many (hard to get into the story again when you know at the end none of it matters whether you play the bare minimum 10 hours of ME3 to beat it or 130 hours over 3 games +DLC, 99% of teh ending is the same).
Additionally, it's hard to nominate a game for GOTY when half it's ending is a copy-paste reskin of the ending to a 12 year old game.
All that said, "GOTY" titles are bestowed by big gaming websites, sites that have already shown they don't accurately review the games. Is anyone going to take such a title seriously from say, IGN, who had huge access to the game during development for articles and an actual *employee* in the game as a character?
