Check network ports as well then, I believe the TCP ports you need open are:
80
443
9960-9969
1024-1124
18000
18120
18060
27900
28910
29900
(Other people have mentioned TCP ports 9946, 42100 and 13000-13100 work as well)
And the UDP ports you need open are:
1024-1124
18000
29900
(Again, some people are claiming that UDP ports 5659 and 6000 help as well)
Try this, I can't tell you exactly how to open ports because it can be different for different routers, plug into google your router's name followed by "opening ports" or something, again, post back with results or PM me if you're still having trouble).
EDIT** Also, the bandwidth you are seeing could possibly be Origin sending a **** load of requests which are being ignored by something.

In my experience, not always, try opening the ports. Also go onto www.speedtest.net and let's have a gander at what your ping, download and upload speeds are.
Sorry if I'm being demanding haha, more information is good information.

Hmmmm, speeds look fine, upload looks a little slow but not slow enough to warrant a problem :\\
What ISP are you with? Editing ports is a fundamental option that you should be able to perform on your router, and is pretty crucial. Is it just not allowed or is the option to edit ports just not available?
Have you also tried simple things like running origin.exe as administrator? When you say your reinstalled Origin 4 times, did you do a clean uninstall and a fresh DOWNLOAD of the program?

Sorry for the late reply,
Have you tried reinstalling the latest versions of .NET framework and DirectX? Should be able to find them with an easy Google search.
Is it just Origin that does this as well? Does Steam do this? Xfire? Skype? Mumble?

Gotta love their tech service
I swear a lot of them just tell you to post on the forums haha
I'm sorry I haven't been able to help, I've had similar problems with programs not firing up correctly and it's a pain in the ass, especially when you've paid for the goods!

I had the same 'prepared' issued. When I allowed Zone Alarm, my firewall to allow access to all trusted and internet zones it worked.

I allowed the program Origin.exe.
Then Origin updated, or rather told me that there was no update needed.
What firewalls do you have. Windows has one, Your antivirus might have one as well.
