Before you read the rest of my post, I want to tell you that I really don't like the current ending.
It's been almost 2 weeks since I finished the game and I'm still mad.

However; I do believe the 'we're listening' statement from BW.

Here is why.

1. After ME1, there were many discusions on these forums as to what people liked  or disliked.
When ME2 came out, some of these comments were taken into consideration and certain things were either added, removed or changed.

2. When ME2 came out, there were again many comments regarding what we'd like to see or what we'd like to have changed or expanded on. (Eg. There were lot's of comments that there was not enough of Liara. After that, BW released a wonderful DLC focussing on Liara).

In addition, lots of people were asking for a deeper relationship with their LI. Since most of us had Liara as their LI, they have certainly expanded on that relationship in ME3 (it's too bad that they couldn't do that for other LI options but it is what it is).

3. ME3 ending.
Did you guys expect BW to come out during ME3 development and ask 'Tell us what the ending should be' ?
If they did, the'd still be writing the game.
So, I'd like to believe that they created this ending to get us to speculate and comment so that they can use all of this feedback to relase a continuation to the current ending.

The way that the game is right now, there are too many unanswered questions and unfinished sub-plots for this to be the real end of the series.

Yes, they could have handled it better to avoid all the negative puplicity they are getting as well as spare us some sleepless nights. It could have been better for them to simply state that this in fact is 'the ending Part 1'.
Taking that approach, would still provide lots of feedback but it could have avoided all the craziness that's going on right now (referring to the person that went to FTC).

I'm as passionate about this as everyone else, but I understand BW position.
