Are they sentient? Or just mindless beasts fighting with the blight? I must say, those conversations prior to the big battle in BG II were a wonderful precursor.
From the videos, it would seem that the dragons are mindless beasts, but a guy can hope, right?
What's the 411 on Dragons?

can we ride them?
can we get in a van and smoke mary jane with them and listen to mars volta?
NOOOO
(wait, I dunno what im saying no to.)
well, from the trailers the only real thing i can say to add to this thread is that, well, there AWSOME.
but you never know, just hope that you are not in the same situation as I, A full day at work moving arcade games getting ready for 3 day trip to virginia that might not happen (fingers crossed here) and then a 20 minute phone call to a gf who has a hard time shutting the hell up when on the phone (but she's cute so its ok) and then waiting for all eternity for the game to download onto the PC.

According to the wiki (I think), dragons are about as smart as dolphins. So, they're intelligent, but it doesn't look like we're going to get to chat with the bastards (like with ol' Firkraag or Thax'll'syllia). Except maybe for the Archdemon!

I wouldn't say mindless, but you wont have dragons speaking in Dragon Age from what I've read.

they are animals just like a lion or a tiger.

They aren't complete morons, but only compared to other animals, and in general they don't fight with the blight, unless they are corrupted, if that's even possible for a dragon.
Those rules don't apply for Archdemons, obviously, who apparently only LOOK like dragons, but really aren't.

They're big guys(just imagine dinosaurs) but with the intelligence of a Dolphin.

As clever as dolphins, which depending on your predisposition goes from the awareness of flipper the dolphin to the one a bunch of raw meat for sushi.

*Possible spoilers*
Don't take my word on this. As I am far from a Dragon Age: Origins expert. But I do not think they follow the blight per-se. The archdemons are supposedly highly intelligent Dragons (Or High Dragons) that have been corrupted and lead the Blights.
But I do not think they are like that by default. Apparently High Dragons are rather intelligent (Pregnant female dragons, if I recall correctly). And they normally live in ruins and such and well... simply do what most beasts do. Hunt, breed, etc.
This should help: http://dragonage.wik...om/wiki/Dragons
