Errr... what?

This sentence would be flagged for "weasel words" if typed into wikipedia. It simultaneously states a fact and then tries to minimize the provider of the fact.

I really wish they wouldn't buy into the artistic integrity spiel.

The endings are wrong. Just admit it. Still I guess it's something.

Am I the only one that reads that and thinks he's largely dismissive of everyone against the ending? He spends more time dancing around the issue and refuses to acknowledge any type of mistake on Bioware's part.

Feel good about this. We've made an impact, and we know that Bioware is taking this seriously.

That said, continue to keep the pressure on.

Give them positive, constructive feedback. Because this matters, and WE matter.

Bolding this sentence.

probably another PR move to placate us. I wouldnt hold my breath until a definitive statement is made that says they are making a dlc to fix the ending along with a release date.

Unacceptable.

Another thing I noticed. There's nothing artistic about it, it's just badly written. The end.

Pretty much yeah. Although as expected, the message does not confirm, nor deny anything. It seems to be another reaction to the fans to keep sending feedback, but to wait patiently. Indicating, at least to me, that they had (and still have) something planned but need more time to finish it, and do not want to give away any details.

So essentially he is saying the their "artistic" integrity is more important than the integrity it takes to admit you made "promises" and didn't deliver on them. Makes me wonder if he played the game his company made.

"Exec Producer Casey Hudson and the team are hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity for those seeking further closure to their journey."

That's what I feared. They're gonna 'explain' why Joker was fleeing in the middle of the battle and why Ventkid's nonsense make sense. But they won't change or add a thing.

...

Our first instinct is to defend our work and point to the high ratings offered by critics – but out of respect to our fans, we need to accept the criticism and feedback with humility.

What? ...
If I get my work criticized, my first instinct is to see where could I have failed. If the critic is valid, I have no other than accept it and concede. If not, I would defend it.

There is no way they can just accept the endings as positive and well put out. If they found it somewhat good? That's cool with me. But they have to be very shortsighted to not see the problems WE see in them.

And hell, since when the opinion of a couple of critics, who you probably paid anyways, is better than that of a WHOLE fanbase? I personally would prefer the former, since it's a way varied number of individuals that are actual FANS of my work and aren't just doing their job but actually giving their hearts and brains to give me feedback.

Harbinger finish please:
THIS HURTS ME.

I think he handled this statement perfectly. Just confirmed there will be a new ending somewhere down the pipeline and that they are actively trying to make things right.

They're surprised that people dislike the endings? Really?

I mean, I can almost see how if they were pushed for time they MIGHT end up with endings that they hadn't really thought through, but to think that people would be satisfied with them they'd have to be fairly oblivious.

I don't like this, they're not going to change it, just add a few text boxes and explain every plot holes with space magic

You can't expect them to admit the endings were bad; that's something they would just never do. So people shouldn't be surprised or angry that they're not.

I liked it until "most folks appear to agree that the game as a whole is exceptional, with more than 75 critics giving it a perfect review score and a review average in the mid-90s". I understand that he's proud of this but the majority of critics aren't the majority of people.

At least some news has been released. News is cool.

Actually youre right, their plan right from the begining was to make you angry, they made what they did with the intent to get you angry, bomb metacritic, sell back their games and cause all this drama. Delusional

He sounds very direct and passionate. THAT I like. That and I don't have to sit there and ask my friend who is former military intelligence if I'm reading what I think I'm reading.

And generally if we come to the same conclusions, its usually correct.

I still fail to understand why it took so long to say even something as solid as "We are looking into it" though.
