Calling it a "victory" makes it seem like we're against bioware. I suppose so does the phrase "hold the line" to a certain degree.

Anyway, i think it's important for bioware to understand that its BECAUSE we love ME3 so much that we are so opinionated about the ending. If the rest of ME3 was mediocre, a lot more people would just accept it and move on.

nice response from the Doc, and is probably about as much as THEY are sure about at this time. And that's all we can ask for.

I think he means what he said... both in defending his team and expressing a intrest in doing right by the fans...besides lying about what is for sure going to happens(because they are still coming up with it) there is not much more you can ask for.
I also think the Us vs. Them thing is a foolish way to go about it..

Am I the only one that reads that and thinks he's largely dismissive of everyone against the ending? He spends more time dancing around the issue and refuses to acknowledge any type of mistake on Bioware's part.

No youre not, the rest of the Hold the Line movement is acting just as stupid as you are

I liked it until "most folks appear to agree that the game as a whole is exceptional, with more than 75 critics giving it a perfect review score and a review average in the mid-90s". I understand that he's proud of this but the majority of critics aren't the majority of people.

At least some news has been released. News is cool.

Yeah because only critics think the rest of the game was good... No one in the forums thinks the rest of the game was good. Smart as usual BSN

it's a victory in the sense that they will never change the ending unless they are guilted/shamed/forced by threat of loss of money to do it.

What I read from this is that the critics have successfully subverted all of Bioware's channels of communication.

BSN - No one dares comes in here, except the mods in their role as referee.
Twitter - The #ME3 hashtag belongs to critics
Facebook - Last Sunday night??? LOL
Youtube - Look at the commentary to their three latest videos, yikes.

That's why they've been relying on IGN to advance the artistic integrity strawman. They don't control any of their own channels enough to put out a message anymore and EA is worried.

There's nothing artistic about the endings, that's BS.

This is pretty much the most he can say while still supporting the current endings. I have to point out that is his choice of words, too. Current endings. This implies future endings. I'm cautiously optimistic, even though this response suggests the indoctrination theory is incorrect and they genuinely believed these endings were acceptable (that's not good).

And now we wait...

Its not a victory. They are conceding nothing, trying to defend the ending

That's what I feared. They're gonna 'explain' why Joker was fleeing in the middle of the battle and why Ventkid's nonsense make sense. But they won't change or add a thing.

That's the way I read it also. No mention of change, no mention of mistakes, just "answers to questions" and further "clarity and closure".

That statement has filled me with sadness, we are not going to get a new ending, we are just going to get the original one explained and expanded upon.

That's also what I thought when I read that sentence. Clarification re: the fate of the characters/possibly the galaxy/the kid's weird logic, but with the same endings.

Indoc theory is dead then, at least as a predictor of future DLC. They clearly never meant to build on this line of speculation; it wasn't some crazy marketing stunt. It is just a really confused and muddled ending, which contains traces of other sidelined endings. Shame.

Perhaps whatever they release in April will at least provide closure for some of the characters.

I just wish somebody would address the blatant plot holes instead of saying that the studio is proud of their work. It's insulting to everyone for them to say that they think they did a good job.

In reading that it doesn't seem to confirm or deny anything more then any other statement already has - all it really does is say much of the same only with a month attached to it now.

I'm telling ya, the best we might be able to hope for is extra content that expands on the endings given as opposed to rewriting it alltogether.

They will not do this, renounce bioware and leave this forums if youre expecting that. They will never admit anything was wrong because they clearly did what they wanted. That fact that most peoople didnt like dosent mean they did a bad job in their minds...

This is my greatest fear also. We need to make it clear this is NOT what we want, or this has all been for nothing.

Some things I took away from Ray's article:

-they really weren't expecting all the hate, so EVERYONE at BW thought those endings were brilliant. Obviously, many of us here disagree.

-I have to wait until April (probably Pax) to decide whether I want to remain a customer. Not a problem, I can wait two weeks.

Man, it must suck to be part of the ME3 team right now. Glad I'm not there having to deal with the fallout.

When the ending consists of "Speculation for everyone!" and an ad to buy more DLC, there is no artistic integrity.

Smooth moves, Ray. Now the dissappointment of the fans when there will be no DLC will be even greater.
