Hello Bioware forums!
Let me start off by saying that I never participate in forums. For no particular reason, I just don't. However, I was so affected by the end of such a great trilogy of games that I feel the need to express myself somewhere relevant to the games.
I was disappointed to say the least. I felt that the ending was not adequate for such a story. In fact, no matter the choices, it seemed that every ending was the same, aside from a small change here or there. So, in realizing this, there was really no point in having three choices. It was essentially a placebo effect. Also, there was an utter lack of a final boss. It was built up during Mass Effect 2 that Harbinger was the big baddie that would be hounding us through the third game. Instead it was the Illusive Man and we could completely bypass a fight with him in the end. It was a dud rocket in an otherwise beautiful fireworks show. Where was the big showdown? Now looking back, it seems that there were some other issues and unresolved storylines that were just never touched upon again, such as Aria. I would've liked to have gone back to Omega. It just felt unfinished overall to me.
Another big disappointment was the Galaxy at War. I really wanted to use it, but apparently you can't if you don't play multiplayer or don't have the IPad or mobile app. What if you don't have an IPad or smart phone? What if none of your Xbox friends have Mass Effect 3? What if you just plain don't like playing multiplayer? I would have loved to have access to the Galaxy at War. I thought it would be a fun addition to the game, like playing the board game Risk on Mass Effect. It just seemed that there was an oversight here. I understand the want to include special features due to the inclusion of multiplayer, but I felt left out of a big chunk of the game.
That being said, I also want to say that I thoroughly enjoy Bioware's library of games. You guys have some of the greatest writers on staff and I love getting lost inside these new worlds you create. I really enjoyed seeing characters from the Mass Effect books worked into the story here. It was a great touch. I will not be one of these petty gamers who say "I'll never buy Bioware games again!" or those fools who are suing you guys over this game. Are they for real? No one made you guys buy these games or play them all the way through.
The only reason I wrote this was because I felt so let down after the ending of Mass Effect 3. Up until the very end, the game was the same calibur that I expected from this title. Despite my disappointment, I will continue to buy Bioware games until the day I die because I can't find better quality games anywhere else. Thank you Mass Effect team and the whole Bioware family for making this gamer's days better. Continue making great work and don't let these foolish people bring you down. They are not a collective voice for the gaming community nor the Bioware community and believe that your true fans will stand behind you no matter what.
